i had my 4-Site for a year or so, but she finally bit the dirt! i was sick of re- gluing that fragile airframe.

So i scaled down some planes of the Sexy Sbach to 17''WS and tossed the guts in her.

Foam used was DSF and AUW is around 41g

Heres the Preview of her and the Maiden flight!

Well after the 2nd and last crash with my HK Mini Quad frame, i was in no mood to reapair it, so i went with a scratch-build.
I went with Randells Elcheapo Home Depot" basswood and ply frame
I mean where can you get a quad frame for less then 10bucks? Hobby King you say!! I knew when i put that frame together it wasn't going to last!!

This one is soooo!!! much stronger! It took about 2-3 hrs to cut and build. I used 100% Gorilla Super Glue! Its the newest glue they have, and it has the viscosity of Med CA, sets in about 15-20 sec enough to let it cure. I then Clamped it moving on to the next. Its dried clear and has a Expoy look when dried.
Strong as ole hell too!!
http://www.gorillaglue.com/glues/superglue/index.aspx

Which i need for my Quad Skillz. I just have a hard time keeping orientation.
I'm going to use a loft over piece of stock and shim it between the 2 plates when tightening down the 550 Align Hili skid,(Thanks Brent!) its clamps it in there perfect!
I want to see if it having a tail like a Hili would help. I can Fly Hilis pretty good! Cause to me a QuadCopter is like flying a frisbe!!

I don't have any kind of Elec saw, so i cut the pieces buy hand with a hobby back saw!
AUW is just over 1000g with 2200mah

I Jumped into building a Quad-copter. I've seen them around now for sometime and new i had to build one.

At the time HobbyKing did not have the ESC's i wanted, they were out of stock! Surprise Surprise!! I wanted the Plush esc's with the Programming card.

I waited and waited!! and could not any more.
RCTimer carrys there own (well) Re-Branded HobbyWIng Esc's which are the same as Plush.
The Programming card is compatible with Plush, HobbyWing and another one now that escapes my mind!

After getting it built, Prop savers seem to be ok, but well not work for the Tri Bladed Props.
Savers are ok, but Collets and hubs are better to keep the Props stationary!
After looking around i made a order from RCTimer.
Also noticed that they are now carrying colored Props, I got a set of Orange and green.

The most common way to wire up you 4 esc's to one Battery connector is what is called a Spider power harness
Here is a great video showing how to make one.
power spider (13 min 59 sec)

I had Planned to make one of these, but found a power distribution board on ebay for under 5 bucks Well make it a lot easier for someone who do not want the hassle of soldering a harness.
Me personally like soldering, so i wanted to get get on the fast track with this build, and waiting 3 weeks for this board was slowing it down.

I went ahead and made a spider harness for the hell of it. Later down the road i am planning on building a TriCopter so i can use the power board for...Continue Reading

Infineon EPP Bipe

Heres some pics, the only thing i have is 2mm, 9mm 1.3lb and 1.9lb EPP

The wings are built the 1.3lb and everything else well be 1.9lbs And 2mm for the fuse side...
I'm going to run some LED's though her! white in fuse and Y out too red and blue on the underside of the top wing so it glows down on the bottom Wing!

Well i decided to get into FPV seeing its coming on Fall here now, the air is getting cool and before you know it,t he days are well be shorter.

First up i wanted something that would be easy to fly! Carry anywhere between 4200mah or maybe even up too 5000mah, and have a AUW anywhere between 1000g-1500mah.
I considered Buying a Ritewing or something like it, But i like building and testing.
So i decided to build one from Owens cornering Pink Foam.
I got 2 4'x8' sheets for $14 from my local Home depot!

For the FPV i have the 5.8g 200mw FPV Wireless AV Tx & Rx Set
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=15295
I well not be using goggles at first. I have plan to get a LCD monitor and install it in one of those Big Black Rubber maid Action packers.
Could easily make/install it like a Speaker and surround with Black foam, like the inside of a TX case!!
ANd save up for a decent pair of goggles

For the camera i well be wiring a 2.5mm 4 pole jack plug it directly feeding the video through my GoPro!

Thanks for RC Flight Test for this great video.
How To Use a GoPro for FPV (7 min 12 sec)

In trying to find a decent Powerplant that was semi efficient!! I needed something that could swing a 8 or 9 '' Prop.
So i decided to give this one a shot!

Made a little Flick on some of the things you might want to do before flying the StrikerQ. Don't get me wrong!! This is one bad A$$ plane. But most of the time with any 200 dollar foam plane there are some mods/tweaks that may be necessary!!

I love it!!

StrykerQ overview and ESC programing (11 min 47 sec)

StrykerQ

Picked up the Stryker Q last week. Finally got a Maiden flight. All i have too say is WOW. She tracks like its on rails. With the the Ailerons Maxed out too 35mm the agility of this Bird is quite impressive!

You can have Speed brakes/Spoilers with your Rudders on the Q.
Heres what i came up with.

DX6i Rudder Airbrake Set Up
Stryker Q

Right rudder connected to the RUDD plug on RX
Left rudder to the AUX1 (or flap) plug.

Mix1
RUDD to FLAP at +100 on both the UP and DN settings (with trim active) so that the left rudder moves the same direction as the right rudder (normal flight).

MIX2
RUDD to FLAP but at -100 on both UP and DN settings so that the left rudder moves opposite to the right rudder and I get both rudders inboard for a left rudder and both rudders outboard for a right rudder (air-brakes). I have not flown this yet, just tested it on my bench. I have MIX1 and MIX2 hooked to different switches and only plan to use one at a time.

....
Final Setup.

D/R's
Low-rates
Expo
AIle 0 75% +40%
Elev 0 75% +40%

D/R's

AIle 1 100% +60%
Elev 1 100% +60%
Rudd 1 100% +25%

Ailerons are maxed at 125% each way.
Elev is maxed 125% each way.
Rudd is down too 80% each way.
Flap is down too 78%
that was too make the 5mm or so adjustment i needed too even out them. may vary!!
