After completing the USS Missouri (Sterling) in 7 weeks I found myself needing a new bigger challenge. I did some searching and found what I wanted at Mantua! The "Amerigo Vespucci" , a 1/84 scale of the Italian Navy ship in service today as a training vessel. I'm into my 6th week and I can't believe the detail of this model! I was warned this would be a major undertaking but I'm loving it. There are 8 instruction booklets (in 4 different languages), thank God for pictures. I'd post pictures but haven't mastered that problem, says a syntax error when I attach photo's. Maybe someone can advise me how to include pic's. Thanks.....

I have a P-51 WarBird "Super Scale" 57" epo foam aircraft and would like some suggestion on how to attach a Mini 36g fpv DVR (with 8gb card) to this aircraft without affecting the performance. The DVR is 72mm x 20mm x 11mmand weighs 19grams. The plane has retractable landing gear and weighs 1900grams (67 oz). Is it best to attach to the under belly, viewing down or some other location(?) viewing forward? It has to be removable but strong enough to stay in place during flight. Any advise is appreciated.

The American Scout was completed in 3 months from the time the box was opened to placing it on the stand. It was great fun doing this model and I received a great deal of satisifaction finishing it.

Update on American Scout: I just finished sanding, filling and application of many coats of dope, with many more to come. Hull is drying and I'm putting together all the parts to go onto the deck, painting them as I go.

Once I open the box (Aug 12) it took me 10 hours to get away from it! In those 10 hrs I got as far as installing the lower hull. Yesterday I finished the planking on the bow and stern. Today I install the stern block and rudder system.
