FMS P-51 retracts:

Got replacement retracts...getting tired of fussing with them all the time...and replaced the stripped one. Everything now works fine EXCEPT...when it retracts while flying it still does what the other one did...it drops down about 1 inch where you can see it when flying. Now it doesn't do this while retracted on the ground and it feels solidly retracted. Have tried everything including reinforcing the retract unit so it doesn't move around during flight. I finally got it down to about 1/2 inch drop so I'm just going to live with it.

By the way...I love the FMS Mustang for what it is. It's a scale-like flying plane that flies fairly fast with the 2-blade prop (APC 13 X 8 or 13 X 10 Electric) and looks GREAT in the air. It is a handful to land without flaps (I didn't install them) with no wind. It comes in fast on my short runway. It's a breeze to land with even a little head wind.

This is the plane that always gets the "Balsa Guys" attention at the flying field.

Art-Tech Spitfire:

I recently crashed my Spitty doing an inverted pass low to the ground and I cracked the fuselage in two pieces and trashed the wing. Well the fuse glued together great but I had to get a new wing from Banana Hobby. They had it to me within three days of ordering and no problems!

The motor was fine but the spinner was cracked and useless. I was at the LHS and saw a Parkzone P-51 Yellow spinner that looked about same size, etc. so I bought it. I then took a PZ P-51 2-blade prop (which has the cutout for the nut in the back) and mounted on Spit and it looks great!

Bonus: It flies faster and more maneuverable than the 3-blade prop! I think it looks better too. It matches the other yellow on the plane perfectly. I know, I know, it's not stock but that is not that important to me.
