I have finished the construction of the tail feathers on the Pietenpol. It took a bit more work then I expected. It is all according to the original plan Barnie designed. I have all the wing ribs finished and the center section built. I made the mold for the wing tank today. I will post pictures of it later if there is any one interested.

Both of these are new planes for me. The DR! is a blu core project and it is a real good flyer.

The other is a all Balsa built from scratch Pietenpol Air Camper. It is not full scale but close.. I have not flown it yet but I do think it will fly well. It is rudder and elevator only while the DR 1 is ailerons along with the rudder and elevator.

I am near completion of the tail feathers. Only the elevator left to go. I could not get Spruce or Dug Fir so I used what is in Belize and that is Mahogany. I used hard Mahogany for the structure parts and Cedar for all the lath work.

It is going much faster then I had thought. I think that it is due to really wanting to do this and looking at it, or that is the plans for such a long time. I have looked at the plans for a couple years and feel like I know them, or I could set down and draw them which speeds up the building. Also what is the biggest advantage is having built many scratch built planes which has given me the incite for building from the ground up.

Any help or advice is for sure welcome. I am not sure if I should start a build thread or is there is a category for this kind of a project here. This place is my home and it is where I post everything I do on my Blog. So if I am out of place please let me know..

I am working on the F14. It will be a while before I get it in the air. It has been a fun project and so far not too challenging.

I am just finishing of a Sopwith Pup. Aerodrome models lazer cut kit. It was a real good kit. I recommend it to any one who want to build a balsa wood airplane. Everything fits the way it is suppose to fit in a first class kit. I covered it with 1.7 once dacron cloth and sealed it with lacquer then sprayed on the color for the finish. The motor is a 400 brush less with a 1300 lipo.

BB3 Courage

This is my third attempt at making a trainer. I finly have it down to a nice refined plane that flys well, and can also take a nose in and still get right back up and fly again with little damage.

I went with the balsa sides rather then the foam for stringth. I do not see much differance in the weight but for the stringth there is a big differance. I used a medium hard balsa with a foam core as in the BB for the body which works well and is easy to assemble. The rest I used the poster board foam.

The motor is a 2212-13 which gives more then enough power with a 1350mha 3s lipo battery. I did not put the battery in the belly but rather made one compartment with a divider holding the battery in the front of the compartment. If any one wants to see I will up load a picture of it.

It flies really good and can take a rough landing with ease and fly again.

This is BB one but I renamed it Scrapper. It is still the best flying airplane I have.

The following words that I have written give form to a true story. It is the story of my early life and how I made the transition from childhood to manhood, and my experiences with the religions of man and my real encounter with God himself. I have wanted to write it down for most of my adult life. It is not complete as far as the entire chain of events, but I have tried to take the major theme and present it as it happened. In doing this I give the reader a glimpse of the big picture and how it played out. It begins when I am about age ten and continues until age twenty-two. It is a series of poems that carries the story line through the journey from young adulthood into early manhood. Most of all it tells of my spiritual journey and how I literally came from what I believed to be a white god to having an encounter with the living God. The story takes place first in Arkansas then moves to Idaho, and then to Belize, Central America.
The voice used in the verse is first of a young man and
his experiences as he grows up following his father.
Then the voice matures into a young strong
adventurous white man, who dominates by youthful
strength in whatever he does. It is in doing this that he
feels invincible. He starts first in the river bottoms of
Arkansas hunting coon with his father who is bigger
than life to him. Then it moves...Continue Reading

Listed and shown are BB1 and BB2. BB1 has been through hell. It has seen it all and done it all. It is the plane that won me to RC building and flying. It is broken in every place it can be broken and can still fly. It is just that like my own body it can only take soooo much and then it has to give way to next group of young body and minds coming this way.

That brings us to BB2 which is a great plane. It is new with little damage do to the fact that my son and I both can fly and land them with out serious damages to them as long as the wind is not blowing more then 20mph ..........To be continued..........

Today I finished the slats for my Storch. I took too much time trying to finger out how not to do it instead of just doing it. I finally got a piece of balsa and went for it. They came out quite well. I am short a couple parts to finish the plane, but they will come in the next couple weeks and sometime the first of 2010 the Storch will make it's maiden flight. It has been a big encouragement for me having the online friends input that I have gotten here. You don't realize how much it drives a person like me having people look at my work. Things I normally would let slide I find my self going the extra mile to try and do it better. This is good. It really helps me stretch myself to do what I feel like I should really do and not settle for second best, or not my best. I have the belief that we should try in life and do all we can to do, and be the best we can in what we do, and not just grease by. I always live with regret if I fail to give it my best shot. To me that does not mean that I am trying to be better then the next person, but simply to be the best I can be, or do the best I can do.
