More than 20 years away from the RC hobby, due to education, master studies, military service, family, children, career ... and now, maybe back in the saddle? Those days I was used to fly semi-scale Warbirds (P-47, Fw-190, Ki61; with 6.5 to 10.0 ccm engines; or .40 to .61 cubic inch), but now I am really surprised how far electric power advanced. In the old days (80's), electric aircraft were no match nor real fun compared to the glow engines. But in the last few months, I've now seen some hardware flying around (all electric and plastic foams), and I am really impressed. Be it Warbirds, or be it EDF (electric ducted fan). I've even seen a "lazy" flyer with his e-bird turning around for almost one hour's flight. That was cool.

So I now really considering coming back to the hobby, and there while learn some stuff about the new realities of electric airplanes. With the restriction of environmental laws here in Switzerland for gas powered model aircrafts (noise, pollution), electric flight is almost the only way around these. That's not a problem for me, since I (will) like the electric stuff anyway. Hope so.

Now, I will start searching a decent trainer for my return: electric, foam, 4 channels, easy & cheap; maybe a self made ... we will see.
