Been awhile since I posted here ,thats cause I'm up to my ears in home Renovations as well as organizing the next Manilla slope fest in September
if you dont know about it look here for info
. Still the Hurricane is now fully operational and ready for its Maiden flight, which will be at the slope fest . and another good thing about the reno's is that my workshop also increases in size which is excellent more building room as these bigger models tend to fill up a lot of space
anyway thats all for now . If you have any questions about any of the builds Or need a hand to work out a problem with a build give me a yell ,cant promise I'll solve it but 2 heads on a problem are always better than 1

Well almost, the only thing left now is the pushrods for the ailerons and flaps and the blue for the roundels and tail flash . She's all balanced and fitted out .
AUW 6.5KG wing Span 2.16 mtr wingloading (imperial) 26.7 oz sq ft
quick up date* finally got the rest of the vinyl and now the markings are complete . That only leaves the aileron and flap pushrods and she's complete

Whilst looking through some photo's the other evening I came across this photo I'd forgotten about it . I'm pretty sure it was taken by 1 of the visiting US pilots to last years Manilla Slope Fest ,It may have Been Jim (Pismo) I suspect but possible by Matin. Oh well either or but its a good shot of 2 of my babies awaiting flight time, which last years event did not happen due to low wind speeds but maybe this year

Last night I hinged the last flap on the Hurricane ,so all that remains is to connect the aileron and flap servos up and finish the markings and we are ready to fly . But as usual we have moved into the winter season now and the local inland slope is not suited to big PSS models so unless I jag a day at Otford then September will be its maiden flight at the Manilla Slope Fest, along with the Fouga and the faithful old Bearcat will get airtime again .

Whilst I'm waiting for a few items to arrive for the Hurricane I put pencil to paper and started drawing up the next Project. A CAC Boomerang is next on the list.
First mistake was that the 3 views I'm using are all not the same scale
but managed to scale each of them to get the same result

RG1410 going to be used on this girl

Update: corrected fuse shape this afternoon ,all bulkheads now drawn .
so returning my attention to the final stages of the hurricane . Then the next build will begin

I have to wait to get the royal blue to finish the markings but its time to move on to paint the wings as well. Today I got 2 coats of primer on the wings ,thank heavens for the guy that invented the orbital sander .
The aircraft I'm modelling is the only Hurricane to see service in Australia this colour scheme is while it was attached to the 2nd/3rd communication wing one of 3 of its operating positions while in service in Oz.

slow progress

Got the second and final coat of green on today , pretty happy with it except its a bit shiny for a war bird still once I start the panel line detail it may take the shine off but you can see the difference straight away shine wise

With My Daughter in Columbia for a holiday which is a bit of a worry the mrs and I have the grandaughter and when the 2 grandson (my Sons boys) come over to stay with nanna and debeer (thats me) its like a 3 ring circus so have to not had much of a chance to do anything but entertain the kiddies and we have another Grand child due in 2 weeks, ohhh my aching back thankfully I've been able to slip away to the slope for a fly now and then but even the wind is conspiring against me , anyway painted the pilot of the hurricane working on the cockpit to be able to close it up and get on with the painting .
