Latest additions include a 3mm depron scratch build F4d Skyray with micro elecs. Will get a run at next indoor meet.

Upscaled into some F4's, Both from HK.

F4u 800mm span with rudder mod. Initially twitchy as the CoG sits aft but additional weight to nose has it running fine. 3s 1000mAh batt and 7040 prop really pull it around the field.

First foray into EDF sees a F4d in the flock. Lots of pointers on the RCG board put me airborne and having fun straight up. Nice big delta glides and lands well with only a noisy fan requiring attention.

Got a Dualsky Breeze as first step into 4 ch bigger stuff. Very steep learning curve from the 3 ch stuff but it proved to be a sturdy aircraft but slowly had weight issues with the panels taking on a taped hue.

Picked up a Kyosho Suhkoi SU31 and built as a 4 ch trainer to take the punishment that the Breeze wasn't able to handle. Had to mod the motor mount to take a brushless motor but have had good mileage from this ship. More relegated to the "might fly" section at home but it is always fun to do rolling outsiders with a bit of height.

Brought in a few Kyosho Christen Eagles from my trips to Japan. This lady really turned heads in the time of the initial Sukhoi and was always mentioned to get a 4 ch rx installed. Hasn't happened but I never tire of pushing it around at flite nite.

Got some EPP from RC Foam in Atlanta as I felt that depron was a bit too fragile for my expertise. Not cheap to import to Aust but have been able to build some aircraft which have survived.

Soundman's Silent Mite was half scaled and proved to be a rocket not so much 3D as I'm sure he had envisaged. Put that EPP rounding to good use on a P47 that I built up from balsa and tissue plans. Wing loading was a bit high but it went well in the park with a bit of room. Rolls were nice but elevators (eventhough enlarged) were inadequate to pull a loop.

Leadfeathers Yak and Edge designs were combined to give first EPP profile plane. Actually learnt about expo on this setup and my...Continue Reading

Started in 2008 with Kyosho Minium Citabria. Lots of earth contact mainly due to over active pitch control and went through a few prop shafts for this model. Decaled it up to give definition from others at Flite Note.

Early 2009 got the chance to get the Kyosho Minium Edge 540. Big step up from the Citabria but slowly got it under control but enjoyed it more outside without the restrictions of the indoor walls.

Got the Minium AD Cherokee (4 ch) for son Chris but early servos had probleems with jamming at full deflection and ours just rolled severly into the ground. Able to return it for a Red Cub but servo problems again saw a store return and no more effort put into the Minium AD 4 channel setup.
