Finally a few pictures from flying the big bird and a little video.

The plane fulfills my expectations to speed envelope, very predicatble flying characteristics and need for fun flying. Only requirements is to find some available space and have fun

My bird weigh in at 4200g and the power setup delivers 4300Watt average. The Neu 1512/1.5D/6.7 cope the hard work its put to do very well and the three bladed GM 18 x 20 is also very well suited to the plane.

I have decided to stay 5S lipo on this configuration to actually keep the power levels down despite it can be tempting to go 6S. However, this can be too much to cope for the motor on this size plane and prop choice.

My new GM 18 x 20 3 bladed prop came in today. A beautiful crafted prop, hope it delivers just as good as it looks. Just waiting for weather now......
Need to get some time flying my new plane soon hopefully, but the Norwegian winter doesnt opens much flying time Patience, patience

Maiden flight done.......
Not a very big success as it was very tail heavy. I had not done my homework properly obvious Nevertheless, I got it down in one piece at least, sometimes snow is good to have. A tail heavy plane never flies well, so further comments on this birds flying capability is not possible.
One thing though, the GM 18 x 21 on 6S and 1512/1.5D did not reveal any difficulties to get airborn. Plenty power and did throw the plane myself

Checking CG a little more specific afterwards, it was beyond the 120mm advised by Baudis as maximum.

Its now adjusted to approx 112mm from LE and ready for new maiden,

Just waiting weather allowing flying. It is a beautiful plane and now I have got more used to the size too......

Some more pictures.Seems like the whole fuse is having full carbon reinforcement. May need to get the antenna out of the fuse then as it may not be 2.4 friendly.

Big C wing shown with "littlebrother" Ascot wing in one of the views.

My new Big Ceres E is ordered from Baudis. Full Carbon Strong version with RDS wings and Graupner Ds 3288 servos for aileron and flaps (wing finish build from Baudis). Plan to use JR DS 339HV for rudder and elevator.

Power setup: plan to use Neu 1512/1.5D/6.7, CC180 Big George mod (thanks Joe) and GM 18 x 21. Lipos still to be decided pending balance, but likely 5S TP Pro 65/130C 5000mah pack and 6S TP Pro 65/130C 4400mah. TP Pro 6S 2700 for some potential thermal sniffing.

Looking forward to this beauty coming

My setup:

RFM Surprise 14
Neu 1512/1.5D/6.7
GM 18 x 21
CC 180
Various 5 and 6S battery packs.

My Surprise have now left this world as it "exploded" mid air during a high speed pass. Reason for destruction is believed to be a fuse pre-fracture which opened up and ripped the fuse during the high load/speed.

Very good plane which have given me loads of fun. I will miss it.
