I got a little Trex-250 and after I got it set up I have to say that I am very impressed with how it flies. I had to tweak it here and there but overall I am very impressed with how it handles the wind and the size of the loops that I can make with it. I have about 10 flights on her now. I had my first crash in over a year and over 1800 flights worth and it was just plain stupidity... I flipped the little Trex-250 upside down to hover and I was in normal!!! !!! the poor little heli just fell out of the sky. I was only about 10 ft up when I flipped it, and when I did flip it, it started to loose altitude and I was now at full neg or so I thought and it landed square on the headbutton! But... after carefull examination I saw that the only thing that happened was the set collar that holds the mainshaft in place was pushed up about 1/2 in and that apparently absorbed most of the impact and actually nothing was damaged. I am even more impressed with this thing after that little unplanned meeting with mother earth.

Well I was on Helifreak and ran across a great deal on a Trex-500esp torque tube tail drive and all cnc and cf heli that was bind and fly. I found it Thursday night and drove up to Orlando friday evening and picked her up. After visiting with my newly made heli friend and talking about helis for 2 hours I finally left and got home at 1:30 in the morning. But it was worth it! I set up my radio to it and gave her a good looking over and then took her up...and I have to say I love this thing, it is SO SWEET! She flys like a 600 and the wind doesn't blow it around at all like it does my 450. I got in two flights this morning with it and I am very pleased. Here is a pic of her.

I now have my Blade-400 turned up to 2500, 2800 and 3100 rpm with no normal mode, just 3 idle ups. I have been getting used to flying at the higher head speeds. I am doing tic-tocs keeping the tail stationary and some really tight funnels and inverted fig. eights. I really love that little heli, it is SO fast!!, it makes my big Raptors look like slugs! I have six Kong Power batteries now so I am good to go. I also bought the Triton2 Equonox charger and I just love that thing. I am getting a Trex-250 because I just think it's the cutest little heli out there.

Me and my Buddy, Nick (Flyboy26) went to the field in Stuart FL. this last Saturday and we got some flying in. He took his Blade-400 on it's maiden voyage and also got a flight in on his Rappy 50 Titan and I got some flights in on my Blade-400 and my Raptor-30. The wind was wickedly awfull but that didn't stop us from getting our flying in. Nick was flying that Blade like a fisherman wrestling a big fish out at sea in all that wind and my Raptor was getting blown around pretty good. I know the wind was strong enough that I had to lean my Blade into the wind at about a 30 degree angle just to stay in one talk about getting in some good hover practice! If you are bored with hovering then do it in those kinds of winds and trust me... it will be anything but boring.. Just ask Nick and he will tell you. Nick got a pic of me hovering my Raptor inverted when the wind died down some.

Hi guys I just want to thank everybody for their support and good fellowship in this wonderfull hobby. I have graduated to inverted hovering and am having a blast with it! Here are some pics of my Blade-400 hovering inverted at my mom's house. I never thought I would see the day I could hover inverted. So I met my goal of being able to go inverted in less than a year! And so far only two crashes when I was a newbie. (knock on wood!) ...Continue Reading

I DID IT!!! I lost my inverted heli virginity today!!! And it didn't even hurt!! I went to the flying field today and was zipping my Blade-400 around the full area of the flying field and things were good. So then I took up my Raptor-30 and flew it around for a while and when I was done I got out my Blade-400 again and took it up and this time I was going around the field so fast I thought I was going to burn the paint off the canopy! So I decided in an instant that I was going to flip it so I stopped about 75ft up and about 50ft out in the air above me and gave it full right cyclic and went to neg pitch as it turned upside down and then went back to pos pitch as it uprighted. I was so excited I was shaking! Then I yelled out to the guys "I DID IT!!" and then they said, "what?" and I said "I just did a flip!!" I was shaking so bad I had to land. So I took a break and after about half an hour I took it up and did about 20 flips to make sure I didn't get scared to do them again. I am so happy I finally broke through the upright barrier and now that I have lost my inverted virginty I am going to become a Big inverted heli slut!! Well I just thought I would share this moment with my fellow heli buddies! Date heli virginity was lost is 10-25-08

Hi guys I just wanted to thank you guys for being supportive and sharing your experiences. As hard as flying helis is and as complicated as they are we have to stick together to overcome Mother Earth's desire to take these technilogical marvels and smear them into the ground

Here are some pics of my helis, I haven't finished my E-620 yet so it's not in the pics. The MX-400 with the carbon fiber main blades is the one I learned how to hover on. ...Continue Reading
