3 maybe 4? years ago I was able to buy a custom built set of skis for my 80" electric cub. Best I've ever seen but not anything that's in production. Never any snow to speak of since then to use them. Then today happened. I think the image tells it all. Depending on weather tomorrow... hmm?

Interestingly enough, there's a huge amount of similarities between the smaller RC birds (electric or fuel) here on RCG and the bigger birds on the FlyingGiants forums. There are cross components that will work for either. If you're unable to find what you need here at RCG, take a look at what's available through the FlyingGiants forums. I know I've found/discovered gear I didn't know was available for some of my smaller birds but fits them very well.

Unknown where the time went on this bird and not finishing it. It's been hanging here for 9 months with just a little bit to do for completion. 2 hours later and it's done. Power is around 138 watts/lb. Bird weighs 26oz. AUW. Huge thanks to Pat Tritle for the design and supply of this wonderful kit.

I went looking for a neck strap balancer for my Futaba 7c. They only seem to make ones with holes in them instead of the ones like Spektrum makes that has an adjustable slide. Plus the Futaba ones are 20 bucks vs. 14 for the Spektrum. I then started wondering if the Spektrum could be adapted. Sure enough, it can be modified and takes about 15 minutes with a Dremel tool. All it requires is shorten the vertical mount by about 3/64" and radius the bottom on both sides to fit the 7c post on the TX. The insert spacer fits the 7c hole as well. FWIW; KDE mfgs. a Spektrum mount as well that 'should' be able to be modded as well. So now I have a nice Spektrum balancer on my Futaba.

As long as I'm talking Tx's, here's something every owner needs. It's screen protectors for your TX. I bought my original one 5 or 6 years ago for my DX7 and it's still on the tx with no signs of failing. They can be found here..

  1. I love seeing vids on what you have and are flying.
  2. I DETEST the screaming loud music that overcomes the actual motor/engine sounds.
If you've built/mfg/fly something, I'd dearly like to hear how the motor/engine is pulling. I don't want/need to hear anything that covers the actual output. Most builders/flyers can hear the strain of a bird that's under/overpowered. Please just don't hide it with some loud music. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but some actual sounds can add another thousand.
