Just been informed that there is a boldclash b06 whoop on its way to me which is a total redesign of the b05 with a aio FC and ESC and should be a great indoor brushless quad at last, just in time too hopefully because it's getting a bit cold outside here in the UK!

I've looked at specs and reviews and it seems like it should be great for indoors with the prop guards but still have enough power to have some fun outside too, though obviously not as much as my 2s bamboo rocket which is just waaay too fast for indoors or even the garden lol..

Edit, first Los video

Again camera is the akk teck bs2 which is still working great!
6500kv motors 1103
Silverised h101 as FC and Rx

Just opened this fpv transmitter and it will be going on a bigger quad or a plane sometime soon once I figure out how to use it and connect it all up to beta flight and a camera etc,
It has uart control so it can be controlled via betaflight with osd to switch channels and set power output levels ( has 25mw 200mw 500mw and 800mw )and also has a mode where the power is only very weak so not to interfere with other flyers whilst setting up.

For now I just tested the setup of power output and channel frequency and that was easy with one button.
Here are a few pics of the unboxing , everything was well packed and looks top quality as usual from akkteck.

I am really happy with this charger and wanted to share why I think it's the best option for charging single cell lipos right now.
First of all some pictures and a link to my first video review and also a short video demo of it whilst it is charging so you can see the display and see how it works.
Buy it here( none affiliate link)

Here is my review on the boldclash f02h camera from boldclash.( Work in progress )
Plus a preview of my next review which will be a high end 1s lipo charger for whoop batteries and any other 1s batteries.
I'll start with some pictures and a couple of video showing it's looks and performance both of which are pretty nice!

I ordered a bunch of stuff from akk when they had another special offer on which they seem to be doing a lot!
All arrived perfectly boxed well and safe.
First up is the x1p vtx which I will be putting on my planes and bigger quads as it has selectable power outputs of 25mw 200mw and 600mw so covers all my needs from small park flying quads to longer range glider ..

My 2s bamboo skewers micro brushless at the park. Been waiting for a nice day like this and today was that day, had a lot of fun with this quad being so light and powerful and frugal with battery capacity.
And I think I'm getting better at flying slowly...

Bit rough with the wind and some wobbles with prop balance but it is not bad for a cheap diy micro out of bamboo skewers and toy FC with new acro fw on it.
Battery went too low and lvc kicked in hence the poor landing , I think the wind and my enthusiasm used more mah than usual.
2 cell lipo micro quad bamboo skewer brushless build with silverised h101 VERY windy day. (6 min 0 sec)

After the success of the 1s bamboo brushless quad ( ) which achieved good power and LOOOONNNNG flight times of over 12 minutes on a 350 mah one cell lipo I decided I would try similar build but this time use 2 cell lipo for a ton more power.

I will be using a silverised h101 toy quad board in acro with d shot 600 and a 6 amp 2s 4in1 esc along with 1103 6500kg motors and 3 inch props.

I've built the frames ( I will be making 2 , 1 will have a straight 2s ESC and the other capable of 1 to 3 s lipo for some experimenting with different setups .

I made a notch for each arm to slot into each other for a flat top this time to make mounting FC etc level easier, still used a servo horn and epoxy and heat shrink for a strong and true join.
Motors will be mounted directly on the arms as previous build did the same and worked out well.

Next I need to fit motors and props and line them up to get level which took some fiddling last time...
Then will mount ESC and FC to make sure I have clearance for props..
I used the carbon frame in the picture to mark out motor holes before drilling , after drilling holes the arm is then sanded flat at the top with flat file and then a rounded file is used to make the scooped out bits being careful not to take too much out and weaken the arm too much.

Akk systems A5 split aio fpv camera review and some more whooping through tables/chairs etc.

I have recieved my akk A5 camera which allows the camera and vtx to be separated whilst still keeping the all in one simplicity and light weight.
Put it right on my whoop and flew it around the table chairs etc and I think the picture is just as good as the rest of my akk cameras ( which are all very good ) and the ability to mount the camera at the front and vtx at the back/top is a nice feature, it will also help on my bigger builds where is need the vtx to be further away from the control antenna.
First test of akk A5 split aio fpv camera on my whoop (3 min 29 sec)

Buy it here purchased at the time for around 10 which is a bargain but prices change as offers are changed so check often.
Some pictures of what you get in the box which came well packed with no damage.

Acro Flying the silverised boldclash bwhoop b03 pro and the 3.5g akk bs2 camera indoors as it's too windy / rainy for brushless outdoors fun..
The whoop style quad is much easier to fly indoors than the h101/x9 frame and the b03 has more power than the normal whoops so makes for great fun!

Boldclash bwhoop B03 pro Los flight indoors (0 min 50 sec)

I already have a couple of bwhoop b03 which are great, I have one in stock format which my daughter fly's and another which I silverised for acro flying.
This is the pro version which is actually cheaper ($17 at time I purchased it )and does not have altitude hold like the normal b03 version, this makes it more like the traditional whoop in flight characteristics and a lot more fun in my opinion, though the altitude hold was good for my daughter to learn because it makes it easier to start flying.

The other main difference is the frame itself which seems like it will be more flexible in a crash and so less likely the break.
In my opinion the colour is nicer too being grey / black rather than orange / white.
Bought here for $17
Very easy to get going with this out of the box it fly's really well, just charge it up via a usb socket and start flying.
It's very stable and VERY fast and responsive in highest rate ( tx has three rates which are nicely ranges from slow to medium and high ) probably due to the BIG motors that are used in these b03 quads, they don't get hot and I expect that they will last a long time unlike the smaller motors used in most quads of this size.
Using stock tx flips are possible in the usual way ie pressing a button at the front and then pushing the right stick in the direction required, they are very fast and tight and lose no...Continue Reading

It weighs 5.44 grams and sends video via 25mw fpv as usual PLUS is records onto an SD card in the camera so recorded picture does not break up when signal gets weak.
Flying in the park with boldclash f08 aio DVR fpv camera , the live picture is much nicer than this shows, YouTube and recording is not doing it justice but you get the works!

I bought more akk cameras because I was so impressed with the s2 and bs2 which I've been using on my micro quads.

I wanted some higher power ones for my planes which I haven't yet flown fpv ..

I got the A3 , the ba3 both are 25mw 50mw and 200mw switchable and the ba2 which is fixed at 200mw.
Weights are 4.3g for the ba3 and ba2 ( both dipole antenna ) and 5.1g for the A3 ( cp antenna )
Quality of build is excellent as I expected.
Picture is good, sharp and vibrant colours and range so far tested in 25mw seems great with no break up tested in usual bad spots around the house.
So in 200mw setting I expect range to be much further than I will ever need.
In the 200mw setting the cameras do get a little hot but that's to be expected and they don't get as hot as the eachine tx03 ....

Want a FC/Rx that's is very cheap($7.5) and small and light?
To use with a cheap light brushless 4in1 ESC ($14) or any brushless ESC for that matter.

It is possible to use this cheap toy flight controller
With something like this ESC
To build a cheap light brushless quadcopter.
I built one here which weighs 27 grams from bamboo skewers and this information is there too but I've was asked to document this part for ease of finding.

For d shot ( easiest requiring no extra parts but read on because there is reason to not do this with the fishpepper ESC )
Here are the connections made on the bwhoop b03 for d shot or any other protocol in fact , the signal is taken before the fet and no resistors need adding and no capacitor needs removing.
Attachment 10142533
This works great for an ESC which has proper regulators on board, unfortunately the fishpepper 4in1 1s ESC does not so it won't work until battery it at 3.85v, this could possibly be fixed by replacing the regulator on the b03 with a 3.1v ldo type but then brown outs and loss of control may be a problem and sourcing a 3.1v ldo cheaply and quickly seems impossible.

For one shot with signal taken after the fets so that it works with fishpepper 1s 4in1 ESC
Capacitors on ready to be removed
