This heli is now flying :0)

I bought this heli used, fella said he couldnt get it to fly right, or wasnt sure he assembled it properly. Against my better judgement I tried to spin er up -- everything vibrated loose (no loctite) and the swash was totally stuck on the main shaft, as well as the flybar cage and ball unit -- rolled old shaft --not bent. Tried on new shaft slides just fine. Hmmmmmm Heres some dissassembling photos of the sjm 180:

Well the little firefox100 intrigued me so much I hadnt given up on it.I bought a used one all together and working. It came with a shoebox full of NIP spare parts -- and extra stock frame and a newer carbon fiber frame. Hopefully thisone works out better than the first, the first one had terrible quality on parts lining up etc. Anywho heres some pics of the new (used)bird-- hopefully some video to post soon :0)

After 2 flight sessions (short lived lol) with this little beastie, I am still having problems with it seeming LAZY on the controls. I know I have adjusted everything and determined it down to voltage issues I believe. I'm going to swap out the esc and see what comes of it and also try a 3cell instead of 2 :0) -- will post updates as it happens for those interested....Continue Reading

I picked this up on the classifieds as I have been eyeballing the design for some time and with winter comingin a hurry here in NY I decided to add to the micro fleet :0) which now consists of
  • Copterx200
  • Firefox 100
  • Wasp V3

Of which one is flying -- 1 is 90% and the other (ff100) is a nightmare lol Anywho heres some pics of the latest addition to my micro family. I will post flight reports when it stops raining :0)

This Heli is now flying --needs some work but shes airborne :0)

Well I finaly managed enough time to get at this tiny little thing.

Still having tail hub woes trying to get the set screws to grab once inserted onto the shaft :0(-- havent dealt with it in awhile but will eventually have to :0)

I assembled everything hand tight knowing I would have to take it back apart. The directions lacked to say the least and it came in every piece known to mankind. Every bushing, spacer, bearing and tiny little -azz screw.

I was suppose to recieve boom supports in which I never got, The motor sent with it was a tuff mother getting bolted in, didnt quite line up without fiddling around, and no mounting bolts, and ofcourse the poor tailhub story :0(

So heres the pics so far, holy I have to add all that stuff yet? MAN O MAN lol

SOLD this heli

This is a 400 class heli and all plastic except the head which is silver cnc. It definataly has a much different head than I am used to so this should be interesting. Anywho heres a few pics unpacked and I will add more tonite -- hopefully I can get it done for tonites flyin :0)

All in all she seems like a pretty sturdy heli and solid as a rock for plastic. -- reasoning is if I use it for a tester bird the fixs so far seem to be cheap and affordable :0)

This heli is a nightmare :0(

Yet another entry without consistant flight. I think I am having ESC problems with 15a not being enough. I am running either of 2 batteries:

Electrifly 11.1v 910mah 20c

Ace Power (aka cheapo) 11.1v 1050mah 15c

Battery 1 ---- cut the tail after 15 - 20 seconds.No tail authority

Battery2 ---- tail authority is gone after 45 seconds and esc is kinda hot.

The gyro is set up properly as it holds excellent for 45 seconds. The esc only has a 1a bec and looks/feels very cheap. After all it did come with the motor cheaply. Nothing is binding and moving freely -- spins forever on downspin. I will have to do some reseach about the esc and try try again :0) -- till then heres some completed pics of the CopterX wiaitn on esc fix. All wiring done.

My last entry probabaly till she maidens. I am close -- just need to go to lhs and buy the gyro then were off. Electron Hobby really came through with the parts (Tail blades) since ehirobo didnt ship any with my order. I also picked up some other spares like the canopy, boom, and tail assembly. If and when the shafts pretzels I will try the erod shafts. Anywho heres my latest pics of the heli. Still need to do wire management ans thats why the text -- I was asking opinions :0)

I found a superlight and powerful little purple wonder outrunner and esc -- someone else found it and I followed the link :0) Below are a photos and weights of some of the items I bought so far. I am only waiting on a gyro decision (which will probabaly be the align HH @ 11g and $55 -- telebee knock off ) and then I'm ready.

---------I currently have an 4500 kv with a 10t pinion and 120T main spur -- approx: 3746 HS -- target is 3500 so I'll probabally drop the endpoints a little lol----It came with an 18a esc -- so both weighed in at approx 35g -- woot

---------4 Eflight S-60 servos --- strong and quick -- weighing in @ 24g or 6g a piece.

---------1 Thunder Power 11.1v 910mah 15c -- for experimenting :0)

---------AR6100 Spektrum receiver @ 3.5g

--------------------soon to be an align HH gyro @ 12g with case

So the long and short of it is I only added 74.5grams to this already heavy heli :0)

I truely hope all this research is paying off when I maiden :0)---- I donthave the battery weight in front of me but TP's are pretty light
