Flying Indoors started early in Carvin/France. They celebrated their 10th anniversary with the first F3P competition officially scheduled in the FAI calendar. Top pilots from Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany and Netherlands competed against some of the best French Indoor pilots.

I have been visiting the event at Carvin for the last five years (2002-2006) and the German team always enjoyed the trip.

Here are some pictures of models used in the competition:...Continue Reading

With over 100.000 visitors, the modell-hobby-spiel in Leipzig is one of the most popular model fairs in Germany. The facilities are excellent, as you can see from the pictures. It was here, where I started to get a taste for Indoor flying in 2000, and after 3 years as pilot only, I am organising the Slowflyer Show since 2003.

Here are some impressions from this years event.

3 days of model flying at my local club, the Aero Club Rheidt, just 1 mile behind my house. Good weather (not too hot ) and some top pilots made this a weekend to remember.

Apart from the flying, there was also a lot of socializing. I had Armin Mangelmann (Mr. MAMO) and his wife Manuela, but also Martin Müller and his wife Stephanie staying at my house. Never a dull moment throughout the weekend.

And now for something completely different.

Once a year the top German jet pilots meet at the MSV Oberhausen. As a member of this club for the last 33 years, I usually don't miss the "Flugtag".

Yet again, it was worth the trip, but judge for yourself:

Well, the sun had actually gone down already and my Panasonic Camcorder does not like the dark - therefore the quality is not up to my usual standard, but I hope you like the action.

Just maidened my MiniMag with the original Multiplex floats. Flight behaviour hasn't changed much. The additional weight is probably more noticeable than the extra drag, but the MiniMag still performs really well.

Looks really strange when you do rolling circles with floats or low inverted passes.

Haven't tried flying from water yet, but tested the other extreme: The model stops on dry short grass in approx. 6-7 feet - without overstressing the landing gear, or causing damage to the water rudder.

Painted and with decor, my FunJET weighs now exactly 567g RTF (that's exactly 20oz). Strong wind or no wind - the FunJET really is fun to fly.

Even the cat got excited.

Almost three years ago, I started a thread series which is probably the longest in RCGroups history:

I was still flying the original model until yesterday, when I put the brushless combo in, which I had recommended a few times before.

The maiden flight with this drive combo was filmed by James Frolik, and by coinsidence the "most highly modified" Easy Star was also at the field. Enyoy the videos:

While working on my hot "Outdoor-FunJET", I thought I give my Indoor-/Parkfly-FJ a new color. The bright Neon color only added 4g in weight.
I am now looking for some "tribal wings" to add - or some biohazard or radioactive symbols.
