If you are into scratchbuilding foamies you might consider picking up a 4" Rapala fillet and a fine diamond stone. These knifes are super sharp, inexpensive($14.00) and very thin. Great for EPP. I still use the old stand by #11 hobby knife but tend to go for the Rapala first anymore.

I had an appointment with a client yesterday to possibly build a fireplace mantle. I had done some work for him before and knew he had done some modeling in the past. As we chatted he asked me if I wanted to buy some of his kits as he has gotten out of RC.

He had a pretty good pile of old kits and odds and ends. One thing that really caught my eye was the SlowJazz. I thought what the hell is that?, looks like a giant Vapor. Well it was unique enough I decided to buy it. I put it together last night and managed to take it out for a quick test flight. Wind was light but still enough to toss it around quite a bit, I will save it for a nice still evening next summer to fly around the yard. Comes with a IPS brushed motor, I do have a Ammo inrunner that will fit so I may swap it out.

He also had a Great Planes Fling. I liked the size and lines of the plane to I picked it up too. I have never Hi Started a glider but it should be fun, if not maybe an electric conversion?

Well I may go back for more, he had a pretty good pile of balsa and another thing that caught my eye was a Spectra kit. I will do some research on it, may be a good winter project.
