My flying pal, the master of GWS Slowstick perversion, has yet another one to add to his collection. Its called the kitestick. It uses the same Harbor Freight kite as my ultralight, but he used a slowstick fuselage and various other slowstick parts to build the frame for his. Since his has a rudder and elevator it is much easier to control than my ultralight.

I've decided to tread more into the 3d world. I can 3d pretty well on a simulator, but I wanted a real plane to practice with so I chose an easy to build plan from Dave Powers. Did I also mention it is free?
My Extra 300 profile foamy has yet to maiden due to these locally high winds, but the forecast looks pretty good for this coming weekend so I am hopeful.

I chose a tower pro 2410-12 motor (because I had it in a box unused) with a 9x4.7 prop. I added landing gear and a tail skid so I can taxi and takeoff. It came to 15 oz. RTF.

Well, In the last two weeks I've finished 2 new aircraft. The first is the EPP Eagle that I've had for 7 months sitting on my bench and the other is a Rogallo wing trike that I made in a record 4 days. Both are powered by my favorite 2408-21 motor and fly great!

This weekend I finished my scratch built Fokker Eindecker and flew it. It is a little squirrely in flight, but not uncontrollable. I think if I add just 1 ounce of weight to the nose it will be tamed. The pilot is a 1/6th scale Williams Brother's figure. The motor is a Tower Pro 2908-10 with a APC 11x4.7 prop.

Today was the maiden flight of a project mastrsn and I have been working on for the last 3 months. The Mega Stick. It is physically twice as large as a regular slow stick with a 92" wingspan. With only about a 20' takeoff roll at less than half throttle she lifted gently into the air and circled the field gracefully and landed on three points. Here's a link to the build thread and pictures of the maiden flight.
This is the only double sized electric powered slow stick that I am aware of.

A few people have asked for some close ups of the nose nose gear retract installation in my Trojan. Here they are.

I've finally got a good motor and prop combination. A Dualsky 2830CM-12 outrunner motor with a 11x4.7 APC SF prop. I put two flights on it this morning. I still have to make the guns and fabricate a pilot and add a few other details, but after sitting on a table untouched for almost a year I think it came out pretty good. It's not nearly as fast as my 70% size one, but still a lot of fun!

Just wanted to blog a new aircraft to the squadron. This is Jetset44's design F-18. I printed the tiled plans with the printer set to B5 size paper and it came out with a 23.5" w/s and 34" length. It is powered by an ARC130 motor with 3 cell 1345 mah battery. It has a good turn of speed, I estimate around 65mph.

This one I did as solo aircraft number 6 in honor of Lcdr Kevin Davis who was tragically lost this year at an airshow when his F-18 crashed.
