Here's a photos of the NEW Freewing 6S-Pro 70mm F-16 V2 from Motion RC. I just finished assembling this stunning model and very impressive with the fit, finish and awesome scale detail of the V2. Once again, Freewing and Motion RC have done it again with this affordable F-16 on both 4S and 6S power options.

Freewing has modeled this brilliant aircraft in EPO foam with a 70mm electric ducted fan (EDF) power system. With a 1306mm length and 878mm wingspan, this 1/12 scale flying replica including many exciting features! An accurate scale outline with sharp surface details and panel lines make this model stand out at your airfield. Removable main wings and a magnetic nose cone make transport very convenient. The cockpit battery bay cover is secured with a sliding latch to prevent separation during flight, and the entire aircraft is reinforced with strategic placement of carbon tubes to withstand vigorous flying maneuvers. A control board helps to consolidate all the wiring for a clean battery bay. For pilots who want an extra “scale” touch, an optional ordnance set is sold separately, containing two AIM-120 AMRAAM and two AGM-88 HARM missiles.

The Freewing 70mm F-16C V2 features electric retractable landing gear for lower drag and better scale appearance during flight. This versatile jet is offered in three different powerplant options: 4s Standard, 6s Professional and ARF PLUS for those who want to put their own...Continue Reading

Here's a couple of videos recorded by Pilot Evelyn showing the incredible flight performance and stability of the NEW Freewing 80mm A-10 Prototype, coming soon to Motion RC. Truly an awesome flying jet and a must for any pilot looking for a very scale A-10 with outstanding features and comfortable/forgiving flying characteristics. Kudos to the Freewing/Motion RC Team!

AWESOME! AWESOME!! AWESOME!!! As an old A-10 maintenance guy and Desert Storm Veteran, this model and the efforts by all who've made it possible are greatly appreciated.

Today, I flew the "Prototype" Freewing 80mm A-10 four times and it is the BEST foamy A-10 ever produced....PERIOD!!! Excellent vertical on the twin 80mm power system, robust landing gear which can handle some rough terrain...(I purposely drove it off road), smooth handling in both slow and high speed flight envelopes, and painless 2 minute breakdown for easy transport. The Freewing 80mm A-10 is easy to fly, forgiving, predictable, comfortable, grooves, very scale, and has realistic presence in the air and on the ground. Get ready for an A-10 that ranks far above the rest. As local pilots watched our flights, we were told and kept hearing, "I will be getting this model!" or "I'll take it home for you!"

Over the coming weeks, I'll be posting more photos and videos as Evelyn and I evaluate this prototype at our unimproved runway and other sites here in Southern California. The Freewing/Motion RC Team have brought all of us some incredible models over the past few years and this A-10 ranks very high on that list.

Special thanks to our good friend Alpha and the entire Motion RC/Freewing Team for allowing us to evaluate/fly these amazing models.

Here's some photos of the Hobby King Le Petit ARF. The model is impressive and a great candidate for 1/2A conversion. The only issue I've experienced was a pushrod not glued. The aluminum rod goes into a carbon fiber square and has shrink tube over the point where they meet. One pushrod had no CA and was moving as I was connecting the elevator clevis to the horn. I recommend pulling the pushrods out and checking them.

ARF Kit:

This is a great model for the price. I like it so much that I bought a few more kit versions and plan to recover them in different schemes.

Hoping to test fly this PNP electric version when the wind calms, currently blowing at 25-35 mph.

My next one will be a conversion to a Cox .049 with throttle sleeve.

During the week prior and during Veterans Day, our good friend Alpha allowed Evelyn and I to babysit/enjoy his Tigercat at our home. I can report that his Tiger was well-behaved, lots of fun, and a joy to have in our home.

As you all have seen thus far, this model is a work of art and in the preview video, I used a bunch of adjectives to describe the maiden flight experience. When you see it up close, you'll truly appreciated the level of detail and time invested in getting this plane right. As the old saying goes, if it looks right it will fly right......well, the FlightlineRC F7F-3 is the "BEST" twin powered RC warbird I have ever flown.

I can tell you that the FlightlineRC/Motion RC Team invest a lot of time and energy in getting these incredible models right for all of us. Working directly with the original aircraft manufacturer is the key, which they do. More importantly, by taking these important steps, the Flightline/Motion RC Team honor the men and women who built, flew, maintained and supported these iconic aircraft. Kudos once again for your outstanding efforts team.

Here's a video shot by Evelyn of the FlightlineRC F8F-1 Bearcat with the optional Sport Power Package installed. The model was flown on an Admiral 4S 4000 pack. It's a sweet upgrade for a great price!

Back in May 2016, I had the pleasure for flying the first pre-production sample of the soon to be available FlightlineRC TA-152H1 from Motion RC.

At that time, I didn't know much about this warbird but after flying it several times, I was impressed with it's flying characteristics, cool looks, and performance on a 4S pack. A really sweet flying warbird!

Here's a bunch of photos from the May flying session....Continue Reading

Here's a collection of photos taken during our three day stay at Vandenberg AFB, CA. One of our favorite places to visit. We been coming here each Summer for the past 9 years and absolutely love the history and weather of this hollowed place. Evelyn brought her FlightlineRC 1200mm Bearcat for a photo diary....it's her favorite RC model. ...Continue Reading

Here's a fun video filmed by my daughter Evelyn of the FlightlineRC 1200mm F8F-1 Bearcat flying in the Mojave Desert. We wanted to try something a little different and it was fun. The 6 minute flight was flown with an Admiral 4S 2500 pack, 51% power left in the pack.

This plane flies like a Parkzone T-28 with flaps and retracts but on 4S power....sweet flyin Cat!

Thanks Eve for the Wild, Wild West flight and video work.

Here's a bunch of photos of the outstanding FlightLineRC 1200mm F8F-1 Bearcat available to pre-order at Motion RC:

IMHO...one of the very best flying/performance foamy warbirds coming to the hobby. Unlimited vertical performance, even with a 4S 4000 installed and it still lands like a feather....I was very impressed! Flew it for 7 minutes and still had 46% left in the pack.

During model development, the project was given the codename 'Project Evelyn' in honor of my daughter for her contributions to model aviation and desire to inspire young people to get involved in the hobby. And yes, the Grumman Bearcat is her favorite warbird.

Congratulations FlightLineRC and Motion RC, your solid partnership resulted an exceptional flying model aircraft. Thank you!

Last week, Evelyn and I attended our favorite model aviation event held in Wrightsville, Arkansas on 2-5 June......S.M.A.L.L. 2016!!!!

At the event, you'll see and experience different aspects of model aviation which include R/C, Control-Line, Free Flight, and Model Rocketry. If you grew up with or have an interest in 1/2A powered models.....this year we had a great turnout of 1/4A to 1/2A models, most powered by Cox engines.

This event is laid back and so much fun. The local hospitality, lasting friendships forged, and the pure love of model aviation are what make SMALL so special. This event and it's attendees represent all that is great about our model aviation community. We're already looking forward to SMALL 2017.....Good times!!!

The SAE Aero Design West 2016 Competition was held on 22-24 April 2016 at Apollo XI Field in Van Nuys, CA and it was an awesome event!

This year was my first time attending as a Volunteer Pilot for the California State University Northridge Team and it was an amazing experience, not to be forgotten.

If you're interested in volunteering to assist teams at the next event, check out the link below. I highly recommend getting involved in this rewarding team building opportunity.
