my new (to me) lathe, with DRO (digital read-out) for making stand-offs, bushings, or anything else I might need for my planes...

And....Recently, I bought an older "Kondia" mill, and have just finished doing some refurbishing on it....here are some some pics of before and after.....It had sat in a guys garage for about 30 years, and while he didn't "abuse" it, he sure didn't take that great of care of it. So it took a bit of work to make it even halfway presentable....not the "prettiest Belle at the ball", but certainly usable!!

Finally, got it all finished,(check out pic # 7) with a new switch, a 3 Axis DRO (digital readout) and also a digital readout on the quill also!!

I decided to add a few pics of the rest of my shop, please excuse any mess you might see, as I have pretty much run out of room for some things....

In my opinion, you can never have enough tool cabinets/drawers, and I like to have my tools within easy each when working on things. So.. I had bought the tool cabinet on the left under my work bench a while back, but quickly filled it up with tools in the top drawer, adhesives in the second drawer, hardware, etc. in the third drawer, and sand paper in the bottom drawer. Unfortunately, even with some of my modeling tools in my large tool cabinet, I had a lot of my modeling hand tools buried by other modeling hand tools, so I had been wanting another of these cabinets. My first "large scale" plane, flew well.....but it was an "El Porkarossa"....and hide your eyes, because I am an "El Porkarossa" also, and in the pic too....

So....the beginning of my life long love of model aircraft began here..... (as far as models go) I received one of of these Cox TD-3 control line planes for my eighth birthday, unfortunately, I never got to fly it. My dad and I went out to fly it, and he said "you've never flown one of these planes before, so I think I should fly it first". Unfortunately, "he" had also never flown one either, and did not know that you don't just stand there and spin around in a circle. He got dizzy, the plane went in, and that was it for that plane. Since then, there have been many aircraft, consisting of other "u-control", free-flight, sailplanes, helicopters, and fixed wing aircraft.
