I was approached by a representative from Eachine who asked if i would review their new product and provide them with an honest opinion, warts and all. I have had the heli in my possession now for over 10 days and its had been flown everyday. The product is The E120 BO 105 Helicopter and is the latest addition to their expanding line. It is a semi scale micro 4 bladed Heli that features a Flight Controller and Optical Flow sensor giving altitude and position control. Flight times of 10 minutes+ are possible depending on your style of flying and the semi flexible fuselage offers a degree of crash resilience , i've crashed mine a number of times on hard flooring and into walls and other than a simple retightening of some screws and a drop of oil on the head i have done nothing....and it still flies very nicely.

If Carlsberg made RC Helis.....
Things have come along way since i bought my very first heli a 6ch Walkera 36. The OMPHobby M1 is a 290mm Flybarless Direct Drive Brushless heli with integrated Flight controller and Futaba receiver and sporting a fluorescent canopy the M1 looks fast jusT sitting in its box.
There is no doubt the M1 was built for 3D it is snappy and agile in its movements and the flight controller offers a safety net should you need a little help, but, as with most things I have another task I want the M1 for.
Scale flying is what I enjoy and the high head speed and compact frame of these new micros should suit my purpose quite nicely. The challenge of course is finding a suitable fuselage that isn't made from coke bottle plastic. Luckily I have some experience with 3D printing and previously have created a fuselage for my V977 so with a little luck creating something that is light but also detailed should be a real option.

The buggy is similar to the previous Wltoys 1/28 , 1/28, 1/18 cars so should handle a little mistreatment , it will be interesting to see if it can handle abuse over a period of time ( off road jumps etc ). As this model is well over a year old there are plenty of videos to watch expanding the cars life with brushless motors etc so i will link to a few of them until i can add my own.

It does however have an extra little trick up its sleeve , a servo embedded within the body for the elevator , this gives a finer degree of control especially on more breezy days . As with previous models the receiver incorporates basic functionality along with motor control and a Gyro for stabilized flight.

IT IS RC................Just something i thought might interest some of my fellow RC'ers. It seems to be similar to Lego Technic ( and might be fully compatible, i dont know ) but in some videos it looks to be a little faster than the Lego version. This could be quite a good starter kit for someone interested in RC who also likes Lego and the fact that its a building kit means you could create some unique vehicles...................and its $30.........find me some Lego at that price.
There is also this pretty cool kit which can be built into a car or a haulage truck for $25. If the two sets could be combined it would create a pretty awesome racing truck.
