It's taken quite some time to develop, but it's getting close to being finally done. The thing was actually complete only a year ago, but it's been destroyed twice.
Some people don't believe it's possible and others think it's just a joke.

It's not what you think it is!

I thought it would be a good idea to do a small build log of the 250 size "reptile martian II" There aren't any good pictures of the 6" size online so I hope this helpful for anyone looking to get one. I was going to build a 5in alien with 6in arms, but when i saw this for $40, i decided to try it first.
This is the (most likely incomplete parts list)
Motors: ztw sp2206 2300kv(1.5+kg thrust on 4s)
ESC: ZTW 30a HV Pro-f390 chipset
Frame...lol
Flight controller: Naze rev 6 (6050 version)
Receiver: DTF UHF minirx
Video Tx: N/A
Camera: runcam swift
Battery: 4s 1800, 4s2200.

The martian ii comes with textured purple standoffs, but I exchanged them for black ones to give it a more"alien like" appearance.

I haven't seen the new gemfan 5550 compared directly to a 6045, so I figured I would do it for myself. These tests are kinda pointless because I don't have a way to measure the amps and watts, but it was still fun.
It was also interesting to see that the 2212 980kv motor on 4s made as much thrust as an 1806 2300kv with 6 in props.

Nothing really, but it does show that those tiny 1806 motors with 6045 props can handle a 700 gram auw quite easily.

This is actually my first copter, I just don't fly it often, the huge batteries are to expensive.

I still suck at tuning copters, but this was the best gps hold I could achieve so far and it still kept drifting over my dads truck.
Manuel mode is a different story... this thing scares the life out me at full throttle.

These are just some the main highlights of my first mini ( nighthawk or whatever they call it these days) build, it has basic 1806 motors with emax 12a esc's. I originally used a cc3d but, some freaky resonance was messing with the fc. Now has a naze32 and hasn't had a single hiccup.
With 6045 props and a 3s 2200 it gets 12 minutes hovering with a few punch-outs. My next will probably be a 6s.
