Here's my detachable tail mod. I embedded a blind nut into the horizontal stab to allow the tail to be held in place by a 1/4-20 nylon bolt. -

Shot of the bottom of the horiz. stab. The triangular wooden wedge keeps the stab in the right alignment with the fuse when installed. -

Nylon bolt installed. This bolt was all I had on hand when I made the mod. I will probably go with a flat-head screw type bolt, and counter-sink it. Sorry 'bout the epoxy mess! I did that 23 years ago when I first started this build!
