I bought this kit awhile back (couple of years?). At the time I purchased it mostly for the fans that came with it. They were 68/70 mm units.
These were, IMHO, way more than needed for this model. In fact my Guanli Harrier flies on one of these. It is no speed demon, but, I love it. I got it from EJF. This is based on the old Ultrafly kit, which was manufactured by Haoye. They sold it as a pusher. The new kits today, after only a short time, are much better than this one is. Still I think I can do something with it.
At any rate I rediscovered the kit and decided to make it more MiG like. This kit is stand way off scale. It has several issues: nose cone does not look "right" to me, vertical stabs wrong outline for the MiG 29. This was marketed by Ultrafly as an SU-27 (It doesn't look much like the sukhoi either.....). The gap between the two ducts is going to have to be fixed. I do not know why it was set up that way.
To power it: some 55 mm HK fans I was not using along with Turnigy motors. At this point I am trying to throw something together from what I have on hand. I do this periodically for fun. You can come up with some interesting stuff given this restriction...... I find it to be amusing if not always successful. This will at least test this power system as I plan using it in an HC hobby MiG 29 I have (it is an attractive very nice kit). I will risk this one as a test rig/guinea pig.
