Well just over 1 year after purchase this airplane makes its maiden flight. I have powered it with an Enya 80-4C engine. The same version engine I used way back in 1989 when I was flying the Great Planes Super Decathlon. What a great combination this is. The airplane required only a couple of clicks of down trim. Fairly strong winds right down the runway made the first flight a bit anxious, but that feeling was soon gone. Just a great flying airplane.

I have a complete set of awesome 1980's vintage 120 size 4 stroke engines now. All but one of these came from this forum. Some were solicited and some were not. All I can say is that RCG has some of the most awesome members, hobbyists, and friends around. A huge thank you to Jim, Chris, Jeremy, Michael, and Scott for either selling, assisting, or providing these engines to me! This is a set I am very proud to own and do not plan on parting with. Thank you guys!

A very good friend has sent me one of his FOUR Saito FA-120 engines to evaluate, run, and possibly purchase. Now this was the first 120 Saito mass produced and sold. It was released around the 1981-1982 time frame. I have found very little information on this engine aside from a review by Clarence Lee, http://sceptreflight.net/Model%20Eng...%20FA-120.html , and the notes from departed Bill Robison, http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/glow...l-robison.html

I have been unable to find out much more about this engine. I started a thread about them on the Engine forum and few people have commented. It would seem that this is a rather rare engine. I do see one from time to time on eBay but not very often. I want to own one just for the sake of it being so rare. Here are a few videos I have made on this engine. It runs quite well.
