Venom I was underpowered, Venom II was tail heavy......Venom III.....Weather permitting, she'll fly either tomorrow or Sunday.......the Avery crystal clear vinyl graphics are superb.........The inspiration for this model came from my Einzpfeil, and the Concorde wing........so I mashed them together

First dry fit

Found a better "nacelle". 20oz double wall coffee cup. Increased the ground clearance a bit....headed to the shop to cut a new airframe.

Cup dimensions: 3.25" ID inlet (82.55 mm) A= 8.3 in^2
2.19" ID outlet (55.63 mm) A=3.76 in^2
6.5" overall length
9.3 deg included angle (taper)

Fan dimensions: 2.76" ID Fan Body A =5.98 in^2
1.27" OD Hub A=1.26 in^2
FSA = 4.722 in^2

3.76/4.722 = 80% FSA Efflux

Estimated thrust = 3.45 lbs each fan

Well, she flew just fine......until I hit a dirt clod on the runway and sheared the blades off both fans......I knew the fan intakes were low, but I thought I had enough clearance....Oh well, I'll go back to putting the fans higher on the airframes....live and learn

For those of you that like to print your own decals, Avery now has DIY Decal Vinyl. It's crystal clear and accepts Inkjet ink....
You have to water proof the ink, but in the long run it'll save you from having to buy custom graphics. Available at most
office supply stores.
