I Just received the Evolution3D CrystalSky Mavic Mounting Kit

After a few hours playing I'm really impressed with this bracket tbh it's perfect for me, mounts both the 7.85 and 5.5" models in 2 positions depending on your preference, has adjustable tilt and is quick and easy to fit.

The Bracket

Evolution3D specialise in 3D printed parts and as a printer owner I can honestly say the print quality is 1st class, these brackets are extremely well made and it's a great design, every part of this kit that's not metal is printed and it's all solid and well designed.

Since being first announced at NAB in November last year the DJI Crystalsky devices have been getting a lot of interest, I have been able to test the 5.5” and 7.8” models for the last 2 weeks and I wanted to share my overall thoughts and option on these devices, It should be noted that these are pre release models and while I would expect hardware not to change software is beta and could.

Well this is DJI’s answer to what device to use with your DJI product especially in bright outdoor conditions, one of the biggest issues when flying is the ability to see the screen on an iPad or smartphone on a sunny day, while many users have resorted to using hoods and other things to try and get around this DJI’s answer is to build a dedicated device with a very high brightness screen.

CrystalSky comes in 3 versions, a 5.5” 16/9 1920 x 1080 1000 nits screen model, a 7.85” 4/3 2048X1536 1000 nits model and finally later in the year DJI will ship a 2000 nits version of the 7.85”, all three models boast the same features with the main deference being screen size and brightness, to give you an idea the increased brighness level compared to other devices an iPad mini 4 outputs around 450 nits, the iPhone 7+ is around 600 nits so these are substantially brighter than what we have had on offer before.

Overall DJI CrystalSky is a high brightness custom designed android based smart device that supports the DJI Go, Go 4 and Pilot apps and has a whole host of...Continue Reading
