I happened onto a few pictures of the old engine collection so I thought I’d post them. These three are all Webra 4-cycles. The T4-40, T4-80 and the T4-90SC. I really treasured the super charged 90. I probably shouldn’t have sold it…

It’s been a couple of years since I bought some new hardware for DLG competition so I thought I’d add a picture of the new ones to my blog. As you can see, they are a pair of CX5’s. The orange one is a standard layup one that weighs in at 230g with the cg at 68mm.

The pink one is a strong D-Box layup with pushrods on the tails. It’s my windy conditions plane and tips the scale at 238g with a cg at 68mm.

So I have these two to go along with a fairly new condition NXT that weighs 226g.

The three will make up my quiver for this season and I think they will nicely cover any flying conditions I’ll encounter.

Yesterday I flew my battle cruiser NXT to first place. I call it a battle cruiser because it consists of a wing that was once broken in two by a tip strike from one plane and a pod and boom that was broken in two twice from another plane. The wing is pink and the pod is orange. Anyway, when I was done, I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is no better DLG design out there. I say that because I've owned and or flown a several of designs that have been released after the NXT and they just.... are not any better. The new ones may be prettier or a little more convenient to transport but when the window horn blows I'd rather have an NXT in my hand than anything else. It's taken me awhile to come around to the “wise old pilot” advice about the airframe, that being not to change it until it becomes a limiting factor in my competitiveness. I never will do that again.

It been a very long time since I posted anything to my blog. Way back when I made that last post, I was just getting into DLG’s. I’ve now been competing for a number of years. Sometimes, I’ve done very well. other times not so much but I always have a great time. This aspect of the hobby has completely taken over my interest. I still have a few engines packed away that I ought to sell.

Anyway, here are my #1 and #2 competition planes for this year. They are called BAMF. Use your imagination about what that stands for. I’ll give you a hint, it’s not G rated. Lol... These are easily the the most perfectly matched pair of planes I’ve ever owned. They are really #1 and #1. I can’t tell them apart it the air except the color. Armsoar sells them and I can’t recomend them highly enough. They build fast and easily. They launch to the moon. They float well. They are fast and run well but best of all, they are very easy to fly. If you want to give a high end DLG a try, you can’t go wrong with a BAMF.

The reality is that I've had several of these for quite some time now. I actually just realized I have another in the cabinet that I haven't photographed yet... Oh well. I'll get that one next time around.

It's been awhile since I've made any significant posts here on the Blog. Engine collecting has taken a back seat to DLG flying for some time now.

Here is what my engine display case looked like before I sold off many to fund some competition planes.

I've begun collecting again on a more limited basis. I have a few new spark ignition engines and some older OS engines. When I get some time, I'll redo the display case and take some more pictures.

... I still have a few but most have been sold. I sold them to generate funds for my new obsession, DLG (Discus Launch Glider) flying and competition. I'll post a photo or two of the gliders soon.

Well, I did a little house cleaning today. What do I mean? There were several engines that I sold so I decided to remove the photos of them. I want this blog to more accurately reflect my current collection. Oh, and the Reactor is no longer pictured either.... RIP.

Well, I keep saying this is my last one but like a Lays Potato chip no one can have just one and even just 15 of 20 it seems. I'm beginning to get some focus on where I'd like to concentrate my collecting. In the beginning I just liked them all and anything I could get was what I wanted. These days I'm focusing on lesser seen 4-cycle engines and twins of any kind..... that I can afford.

Well, that's the nature of the engine collection hobby, isn't it? I suppose some of you just buy and buy without ever trading anything away. In this case I traded for the G-Mark twin you see below and I sold some others off to buy the Webra T4-40. So what is no longer in my collection? The Contestor D60-R, The Rogers .29, The Enya .06, the Enya .049 and the O&R Midjet .049 have all gone to the collections of others. I enjoyed them while I had them but I've set my sights of other engines I find more attractive... for one reason or another. So here are my two newest and they sit quite prominently on the collection shelf, I might add.

Well I've been picking up an engine or two here and there. I don't have a lot to say about them at the moment but I thought I'd add the pictures anyway.

Time to make another entry in the blog. This time I have a couple beauties to add to the ignition side of my collection. These babies, particularly the K6 really make the collection look good. I hope you like them and if so please let me know. I'd really like to hear which ones you like best. After all, I don't just collect them for myself. I collect them to share with you and everyone else that might even have just a passing interest.

Here are my last two engines. They are vintage ignition engines and this is one part of the collection I intend to grow considerably. I'm just fascinated by them.

This will probably be the last entry on the engine collection for awhile. I spent all my discretionary money for awhile. Now, I'm going to build myself a display case and do some much needed research on each of these. There is enough there to keep me busy for awhile. I hope all who stop in, enjoy the collection. I certainly have.
