This mod of the Eachine VR D2 goggles adds some useful features and make them easier to use. It involves replacing the MCU on the receiver board with an Arduino pro mini running a modified version of the rx5808-pro-diversity code.

It adds many useful features to the Eachine VR D2 FPV goggles including:
  • Onscreen display via a mechanical switch (not overlayed on video)
  • Search Mode - Search next channel based on RSSI
  • Band Scanner - Print spectrum of all 48 channels
  • Choose receiver - Auto(diversity), receiver A, or receiver B
  • L-Band - Total of 48 supported channels.
  • Possible whitescreen fix - automatically cycle from AV1 -> AV2 -> AV1 at powerup
  • voltage monitoring and configurable alarm

Eachine VR D2 Channel Search / Band Scanner Mod (3 min 12 sec)

Required Materials:
  • Eachine VR D2 Goggles
  • heat gun
  • tweezers
  • Arduino Pro Mini (5v 16mhz)
  • usb to ttl module for flashing the Arduino Pro Mini
  • thin insulated copper wire
  • soldering iron
  • solder
  • hot glue gun
  • mechanical switch
  • 470 ohm resistor
  • 1k ohm resistor
  • modified rx5808-pro-diversity code

Optional Materials:
  • active or passive piezo buzzer(passive requires a transistor and resistor)
  • IRLML2502 or similar nchannel mosfet + 10k resistor for whitescreen fix
  • male/female servo cables to allow pluggable connection to switch and external flashing port


Step 1: Desolder MCU
Open goggles and pull out screen and receiver board. Unplug receiver board from screen to allow more freedom.
