I got a fortune cookie today that said I'd bee inspired to complete something I'd been putting off: Here you go.

Something I just decided to sit down and crank out this morning I've been thinking about it for a little while. I decided to go with a simple box fuselage and then round the gusseted corners to get the effect which was much simpler than trying to do any kind of sheeting and formers, and I just wanted to see what kind of weight flight performance that might have before I invest a lot of time. The stabilizer and top plan form and Wing or 6 mm depron and the sides and top are 3 mm depron. I'll do more panel lines and details after I fly it. It already was a little bit heavy for the d 2.3 so I didn't want to have a built up rear hump and just went with the decal on the vertical stabilizer to give that effect. I may paint the vertical stabilizer flat black so it's not so obvious in flight. I made the stabilizer kind of mimic the wing shape. I curve the tail down a little further than scale so I could have the motor thrust line just above the wing.

38 in Long 20-in wingspan, fuse is about 4 inches across and three and a quarter inches tall, 4.9 Oz with radio equipment installed just over 6 oz ready to fly.

It was really gusty for the first flights here, 10mph winds, she handled it well for such a large light model, but struggled against the wind on boost, I think with calmer days I can get a long glide time.

My take on a Boeing Phantom Works XS-1 or what Estes is marketing as the leo space train kit. BT-60 based, this has the wing upscaled in depron for glide recovery with R/C. 16.5" span, 18" length, 2.5 oz empty, 5.15 oz rtf.

Dragonship 7 mini R/C rocket glider. Styled after the old Estes Dragonship 7 rocket kit, but with upsized wing, 6mm depron, 40mm quest tubing/cone. 21" length, 15" wingspan, 5.12 oz rtf using 18mm Aerotech composite D2.3 rocket motor. Maiden and flights 2 and 3 right at dusk/witching hour, lost sight of it for a short time on flight 3 at apogee, videographer lost it a few times, as the lighting would cause it to disappear in certain orientations.

R/C Goblin themed Rocket glider, styled after the Estes Goblin rocket, but with upsized added wings, elevon tail surfaces for control, 24" wingspan, 36" length, 2.6" diameter, 6mm depron wings/tail covered in 3m automotive 200 series vinyl covering. 11.25 oz rtf using 24mm Aerotech composite E-6 rocket motor. Maiden and flights 2 and 3 on the model. No trims or CG changes needed.

Hi all, here are two that I just finished. They are upscales of R/C rocket glider kits I have produced in 2.6" diameter, but these are one off's just for me using BT-101 tubing and 3-d lightweight printed cones from Scott Binder, most markings from stickershock with some hand cut accents and fine line sharpie detailing. Both have very similar specs, 33-37" wingspan, 56-60" lengths, weights dry 24.5 ounces as shown, with 29mm H-13 longburn motor, add 7.25oz for rtf weight.
Uses 9mm depron sheet for flight surfaces with 1/8" carbon spar reinforcement. Pretty happy with how they turned out. They both use tail surfaces only for roll and pitch like the smaller versions.

First is an Orbital Sciences Pegasus XL Second is an upscale of the Estes Space Transporter America with wing upsized for glide(which looks more proportional to me than the original).

Waiting for some more springlike weather and my latest rocket motor order to arrive for maidens.
