Has any body hooked up a HiTec HG3XA gyro with a Spektrum DX5e that has a factory 3 position switch? The gyro has 3 inputs, off - standard and heading hold. Horizon says it should work and Hi Tec does too since their gyro does not need switch end fixing or ranging.. Just want to be sure before buying either and hopefully someone has tried this. Thanks!.

Can't figure out how to place a wanted post. So......I'm looking for an original Spektrum DX5e ( no clone) with a 3 position switch for toggling a gyro.Spektrum made 2 versions with the 3 pos. switch being the latest.

Does anyone have any idea where I can get a gyro or stabilization unit to put into my 48" balsa built kit that's electric and only has rudder and elevator control ? I'm looking to have a more stable flight in the winds ( 5-10 mph ) and maybe a unit that can get me out of trouble when I panic at too of low altitudes. I know there's quite a few units that want to also control the ailerons but my plane doesn't have them. I have contacted several companies that offer 3 axis units and some say they can and then get back to me and say ...maybe not. One said they could but I don't have $245 for a gyro. I'm in the $25 TO $100 RANGE. I'm using a Spektrum DX5e which , I don't think, lends itself to being able to switch the gyro on and off or to another mode. If someone has done this or knows of a unit, I would be very grateful. Thank you!

Just found this old kit in perfect shape except...it uses and old brushed motor and heavy batteries etc. I would like to change this out to an out runner with Lipo's and ESC, folding prop etc. before I get it completely built. Does anyone have any experience doing this and would you please share your thoughts on what needs to be done and any pitfalls. I'm new to this type of flying and used to buying kits that included everything. This one has me stopped at the moment. Sure looks like a great flyer though.

Thank you !
