Made a lot of progress on the weekend, as well as made time to connect with members of the Torrey Pines Gulls Club at their 'Fun-Fly'; much thanks to Mark B, Greg & Chuck for their hospitality & advice. It was a truly great day for all kinds of flying.

The Stab':
- Leading edge sheeting attached; I could have done better/'more thoughtful' approach with it, but worked out okay.
-Sanded, shaped and re-sanded = got the thinness & contours desired.
-Lost my scroll bit, so worked 2x as hard using other grinding heads & cut-off wheels to sculpt 'scallops'.
-Found a few other places to make lightening holes and began cutting away the unneeded, heavy, plastic 'under' template.
-Used food tray foam to make in-fill of all the open area beyond the leading edge sheeting.

More finish sanding/blending(..this bamboo plank sheeting is getting mighty thin!..) to get that seamless transition to the foam skinning and I've started selecting parts for the elevator hinging & foam skins....Continue Reading

Here is another Jet that I love, I used to have a foam electric version but a set of batteries died while in flight and it did not make it back to the field. This is a replica of an Italian Jet from their air display aerobatic team. The Frecce Tricolori (; literally "Tricolour Arrows"), officially known as the 313 Gruppo Addestramento Acrobatico, based at Rivolto Air Force Base.

I have heard that the build time is about four hours, since everything is installed at the factory. The list includes. All servos, servo wires, retracts, struts, wheels, brakes, Turbine pipe, gas tanks, snake tank, UAT and lights. The only thing needed will be: 1. Batteries for receiver and radio. 2. Receiver of your choice 3. Turbine of your choice. This will be outfitted with the new ACEx 80 Turbine from Global Jet Club. So both the MB-339 and ACEx Turbines are available at https://globaljet.club

The jet arrives in a wood crate, and is packed perfectly in there. It did take me a good 30 minutes to get everything out and get ready to ditch the box it comes in.

I just received via text the pictures of my new engine that is now ready to ship....Continue Reading

Well, Since I have I enjoyed my regular sized Xcalibur so much, that now I got it's bigger bother, the Xcalibur plus. Now this really can't be called a build thread since all you have to do is mount the equipment into the Jet. This will have the simplicity of Electron Retracts, struts, wheels and electric brakes. and a new CMJets tank with built in UAT is being designed for me as we speak and should be ready soon. Available from https://globaljet.club or https://www.bananahobby.com/8-ch-jsm...e-jet-kit.html

Hi everybody! Its been almost a year since I updated this thing. SHEESH!~

A lot has been happening around the house. As most of you know, my brother and I are currently into
R/C sailing yachts. (primarily Solings)

We needed some year round front yard decorations and decided to use a nautical theme.

One of my previous blogs showed you an "Alien" themed front yard display. This was made from grocery store containers and did NOT hold up too well in the BLISTERING HOT summer temps here in Florida.

During a visit to a local curio shop, we found some unpainted concrete statues. We purchased a mermaid, turtle, and rabbit.
After giving them a custom paint job, they got a healthy coating of UV resistant sealer and out they went to the front garden.
We drew, cut and stained a Gallien ship, under full sail, and mounted it to the wall of the house.

We attached a custom cut and stained dolphin to hang below it. The dolphin was given the house numbers.

Once I got the woodworking bug biting me, (LOL) I designed and built a sail box for our Soling sails. This has greatly reduced the loading and unloading time for trips to the lake. Transporting the hulls in their stands is alot safer and easier too.

Please enjoy the photos. More updates to come.

Thanks....Team Alienaters R/C...Continue Reading

This will be an evolving thread as I build and review a PR Racing SB401-TypeR. Look for regular updates to this post as I plan to race this buggy in the 13.5T 4WD Buggy class at Thornhill Racing Circuit (Turf Track). Full disclosure, I recently picked up a sponsorship through PR Racing so be prepared to expect some bias, but I will do my best to identify potential areas to consider making upgrades to improve the quality of this kit where applicable.

A quick background on me: I started club racing around 2010 and have slowly improved my skills to where I'm one of the slowest of the fast guys at the club in my area, ha! I typically average between 96% -98% consistency and will occasionally pick up a win for club racing and often make the A Main for regional events in 13.5 stock. My first wheeler was an InTech ER-14 (clay), then I switched to a Schumacher CAT-K2 (clay+turf) and spent the last 16+ months running a TEKNO EB410 mostly on turf. Expect to see me try different things, I'm sure some ideas will fail, but that's where I always try to learn from my mistakes and I welcome you to share these experiences with me here on this thread.
