Hi all !

First I want to thank you all for your support, purchases, visits and feedback, modelers really are the best community... Like if I didnīt knew that
Thanks friends for your support.

Second, thanks to RCgroups staff for not banning me for my comercial posts on the forums ...like I said before, when I can I will advertize here, not on other forums...

This month was the best so far, my site had more than 5 times the number of visits than on previous months and people are buying models too !... I have some complaints, of course but, are from those like myself, who donīt read the manuals before start to built a plane!

Finally, a Big Thanks to a deceased friend who helped me alot at the beginning of all this, thanks Todd You will return as a bird

Thatīs it friends, Thanks for all and keep visiting aerofred.com

S.A.N.T.O stands for Sistem Aéreo Não Tripulado de Observaįão

in english:

remotely operated aereal observation platform...or sort of...

SANTO also means SAINT ...above us like an angel or wathever you may found on these words...

this is the first prototype of SANTO project

this platform is a fully foam, balsa wood and adhesive tape constructed so itīs a very light test bed for the TV and GPS data systems

The power system is a Speed 400 3:1 geared and 3000 lipo batery it flies for 40 minutes on a pure rc airplane mode and a litle more than 30 with the video transmission equipment on.

This is a "foamie" UAV

I used rc cad to design it and then cut the templates on carton so the foam could be hot wire cuted and then covered with TESA wite celophane tape, of course, there are longitudinal reinforcement spars on the fuselage and wing.

The construction technique is similar to boat building, sad I didnīt took photos of the process

The prototype flew well and wasnt tested with camera or gps yet.

wingspan: 2.5 meters
weight 3 kg
engine: OS 40 FP 2 liter fuel tank
radio: stardard rc gear
gps: garmin rs232
camera: 1 color for flight and 1 colour with zoom for observation
Photo: 7mpx digital camera
video link: 1 watt 2.4 ghz TX
data link: Radio modem
Stabilizattion system : futaba infra red sensor

No Autopilot yet

we will continue testing on the next year

This project will be posted here

You Know, Making small airplanes is not easy still I wont give up easely, take a look at my first tests:

The bipe is 20 cm wingspan was the only one tested with rc on.
I believe that it would fly level with a lighter battery... whith the one I USED (A 150 MH CELL) the plane could only fly in straight line, on turns it imediatly loose altitude.

The real weight of this proto I really donīt know but should be something around 15 grams

the demoiselle is bigger, about 30 cm wingspan, flew well (very well and slow) with only a ballast to balance the c.g.

the bleriot XI is a tiny model, less than 20 cm span and because it is a monoplane I didnīt even tried to put the rc gear on it..on free flight performed poorly... It had to fly fast in order to keep altitude...

The rc gear I used was:

bit car rx and tx (no fets)
150 mha lipo cell (single)
didel 7mm
direct drive 6mm (short can motor)
the props you can see on the photos since I donīt know the brand or type of them

and thatīs it.

Next plane will probably be the demoiselle but, instead of the carbon rods airframe Iīll make a carbon fiber monocoque and the wings will be milar covered...lets see
