The Detach Y6 is a 500mm Y6. Powered by RC Tiger MS2212- 980kv and 600Hz Escs. This platform comes pre-assembled with motors and esc already attached or can be bought fully assembled BNF(Check their website as they have a few variety setups). The frame is built to run DJI's product line. Its made to run the Naza, Wookong, A2, Zenmuse H3-2D, Mark II Iosd or Mini Iosd. The frame is capable of over 10 minute flights on a single 3s 5000pack and over 17mins on a 3s 10000mah pack. The Detach frame with motors and esc's weighs in a 1007 grams. The light weight and extreme portability makes this frame very unique.

I plan on building mines this weekend using a Naza v1 with V2 Pmu, Mark II Iosd, and Zenmuse. I plan on running two Zippy Compact 3s 5000 in parallel. I expect my AUW to be around 2200 grams.

Well I've been building and re-building frames for people for awhile now but I just figured that I should try to spread the word a little more ! I've been building and re-building frames for for going on two years but I've been in the R/C Hobby for over 15 years from cars to boats to helis and back and forth. I seem to never take any pics of my builds especially some of the rebuilds they are definitely worth taking pics of. But this build I couldn't pass up! I wish I would've taken some as it progressed but I keep saying I was and never did. I enjoyed building this frame it's sort of a labor of love. I have a lot of my time into it. I had to source in a lot of small parts and modify some stuff to fit and be easier to interchange. I list a short list of things the I've done and the components used. Sure I won't remember half .

Components and Work Done:
Frame and Landing- Built *Properly *
DJI Wookong- Installed and Setup
RC Tiger Motors MN4014 400KV
RCTimer 40Amp Opto- Wire Rerouted and Meshed as well as Re-shrank Wrapped (also Labeled)
Power Harness- Built and Installed
Carbon Core Photohigher Mount- Cut, Grind and Filed to Clear Pitch Servo
Photohigher AV130- Wires Extended, Meshed and Adapted for External BEC
External BEC- Wired for Dual Input, ON/OFF Switch Installed, and Meshed
GemFans 14x4.7- Hand Reamed to 8mm (Will Sand and Balance If I have Time Left)
GemFans 13x6.5- Balanced and Mounted

I still have a good amount of cleaning up to do. As...Continue Reading

This video is from June but this crash shows how strong this frames are. I was well above the trees when I lost power and the only damage was a fractured plate.

Best and Worst Iconic-X FPV 6s. Testament of how great Iconic Frames are!!! (15 min 2 sec)

Skipped to a little before the crash

This is thing is light! Its a 400 size diag motor to motor. The frame weighs a little over 9oz with the vibration dampening FPV mount. RTF with all the FPV gear they should be around 32oz or 907g. Oh and thats with a 3s 2200 so you know you'll get long flight times. This thing is cool! If you want to see more about it heres the link:! Pete the guy that makes this frame is awesome. He'll answer any of the questions you'll have he's customer service is above par. I'll try to assist if I can as well so feel free to pm me or left a message here. As always all the components needed for this build will come from DIYQUADCOPTERS.COM.

That antenna is just for mock.

Well I've been admiring the Carbon Cores for months! But just could not see myself buying one as I already have a Droidworx that I dont fly. Then a few months back Dan @ DIYQUADCOPTERS.COM became a dealer and I got the bug again for one. After Dan told me about his build and the quality it was hard not to snatch one up that day. Well I quess I held out long enough on this past Friday I couldn't resist anymore and ordered one. Dan shipped it the same day(Thx Dan) and I got it today! As soon as I opened the box I was speechless. THIS THING IS GORGEOUS!!!
