I have always liked the early Mustang and prototype. I have been looking at pictures on the web to understand the differences between the early versions. I noticed the A-36 and P-51A's were different as were the RAF aircraft. Not sure about the carburetor scoop extension and when/why it was extended. The RAF plane has a shorter scoop and lacks the nose guns.

I hope to have a PSS plane of this subject in the future.
