Hi All , well i have finally decided to bite the bullet and build my own old timer plane i found the plans on the Outerzone site and down loaded them on to my stick and then enlarged them to full size. the construction is fairly basic, I have not built a model for quite some time ( 35 years) , so at this early stage i have bought the balsa wood ,which was a hassel as imperial sized balsa is not freely available in South Africa in addition to this i have packed the wood and bought it to Angola where i work , My intention is to build in my off time . First order of the day is to construct a workbench with a flat surface so far i have scrounged some angle iron and a bit of flat steel from the mines scrap yard and i have built the basic frame work next is to fabricate some shelves and cuboard space , then i can really get down to some building.
