Coming up again for 2011. I have decided to open it up to some Golden Age-rs as well - aircraft from 1935 and earlier.

Gas, Glow or Electric, any size is welcome.

Time trial type racing (micro-antic is head to head, a gaggle of them all at once - hillarious!) with a "cannon" start.

Come and fly or just come and watch.

If you are familiar with Jim Kiger of Replicraft he usually stops by (lives in the area).

Hope to see you there!

Hello - I am the CD for Waldo Pepper's Flying Circus, held at Southern Alameda County RC (SACRC, aka SACRats). It is a sort of Dawn Patrol event -Early Birds, WWI and aircraft introduced up to about 1935. This year we had Micro Antic racing, Open (Military) Racing and a Balloon Bust. Michael Heer took some photos and video on Sunday https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...4#post10677129

The Micro Antic racing was a gaggle - all of us took off at once. We are continually improving this race, and it is not restricted to Micro Antics, but any similarly sized airplane. The Open Racing was time-trial style racing - take off, one oval (left turn, left turn) then start 2 figure 8s (right turn, left turn, right turn. left turn - then dive to cross the finish line. You do not have to land on that pass. Time starts from "GO" and ends when you cross the finish line.

There are some videos on YouTube as well -
