One last time......

I got to fly for close to 2 hours with my best friend, swapping off take-offs and landings out of JFK and Hong Kong.....Our instructor is a fabulous person, but he has a mischievous side....on the downwind leg of my approach to 07L at Hong Kong, he cut the port engine on me...a bit of right rudder and and a little left aileron fixed that, but she (an A300 Airbus) was wallowing around the sky like a drunken whale.....exciting wasn't the word for it....

But I still painted the landing.........while both my friend and instructor were laughing their butts off....As a note we never flew with autopilot or auto land......the realism is amazing...sadly our instructor is moving on to fly commercial.....best of luck to him

Thanks to Lufo for pointing out the sheen on the skin was a bit too shiney, I reworked for less sheen on the skin.

Does look much better Lufo. Appreciate your thoughts.

Decat maiden (1 min 57 sec)

A) After 2 maidens - I would rate this ( RTF version ) Zero Stars out of 5
B) Every time I go to fly , the Tx seems to become more and more rubbish . It will not hold a trim , and the last time out the trim buttons refused to actually work . I would trim the plane and a few seconds later ( after launch ) the trim would change mid flight . ( What the parking lot ? )

I just dont know what to say , except what a pile of dog left overs this plane is ( and or Tx )

I have pulled the Rx out , and I will see if I can bind to it with a multi protocol Tx .
Push come to shove , a new Rx might have to go into this model .
The Tx is GARBAGE , and if the Rx wont bind to anything , well , a bit of a shame as I will BIN them .
The servos look to be Hobby Grade , so I really dont see issues from there .
It just has to be the rubbish transmitter ...

Also the factory supplied props are weak , the slot the landing gear goes in is weak . The CG is too far back with the supplied battery . I put in a larger battery to hit the factory specified CG spot , but that Tx ! There was little improvement in how the plane flew .
So I am done with the Decathlon for now ..

It desperately needs a decent Tx , much larger wheels , a larger heavier battery and a decent prop ! ( Then it might fly )

My personal opinion is = Best to avoid this one ..

Update :

I tried to bind to the Volantex Rx , but it was a no go .
So this product uses some obscure protocol that is not supported by my Multi protocol Tx .
So scrounging around I found a DSM2 Rx I was using to test a Flybarless Gyro ..

I have set up the Decat ( again ) for my Taranis Qx7 .. Set all the control surfaces ..
And hopefully it might fly ( ?? )

Having your trims re-adjust mid flight because of a rubbish Tx , is just (?) too much ...

Recently, China Mobile and Huawei completed the world's first unmanned aerial vehicle 5G high-altitude base station emergency communication test. The high-altitude drone base station has a coverage of more than 6.5KM when flying at 200m altitude.
This test is the first case in the world to verify the coverage capability of a drone plus a 5G communication system, further verify the feasibility and implementation of the 5G high-altitude base station solution, and provide a better emergency communications solution for future earthquake relief work. Play a greater role in the scene.
As everyone knows, with the development of communication technology, drones have played a more and more important role in society, especially the arrival of 5G. Because of its large bandwidth, low latency, and multiple connections, it has given drones new Demand, it can play an important role in different business scenarios such as emergency communications, security, inspection, logistics, agriculture, and forestry, and enable all industries to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
China Mobile Research Institute, Xiong'an New Area Mobile United, Huawei and UAV company have continued their scientific research and innovation. After multiple verifications, new developments have been made in 5G high-altitude base station communications, and they have further broken the issue of coverage.
The pilot was conducted in Xiong'an New District, Hebei Province, and the feasibility of the scheme was fully...Continue Reading

I built this rope feature obstacle and it isnt easy getting down the ropes. One slip up and the truck drops right to the ground. I used a set of battle ropes. Its a length of 30 feet folded in half. Once the track is completed there will be a few videos made showing each section.

Hello RCG, This is a long video, but the data captured made it worth the effort. There is a time index in the video so you can skip around if you like. Also, the efficiency calculation was changed and the description contains addenda. No changes to the result though,

A couple flights with my Eflite 80mm F-4... one with badly balanced fan and then the others with the fan balanced at the field. I still think it could be a little better but this will do for now...turned out that the adapter was loose on the shaft and would make a horrible racket. once that was fixed and loctited things worked great! I think that it can get better with some more tlc though...

I have more fun flying Parkjets than anything else so I jumped at the opportunity to review this Eachine Mini F-22 Raptor.
This Parkjet is Courtesy of Banggood!

This is Flight #4, only a short portion of this Flight was in Manual Mode but you can see I'm already getting more used to the sensitivity in Manual Mode.
I was surprised that the Roll Rate was faster with the Stunt Button than Full Stick Deflection in Manual Mode?
Yeah, that's a bit odd ;-)
The more I fly this Mini F-22 the more I like it.
I think this Parkjet will lend itself to some MODS in the future as well.

The commanding officer of the Navy S-3 squadron I flew in decades ago had one quirk: he expected his junior officers to recite a poem on special occasions. That included the day a number of us arrived on base after graduating from flight training. We didn't know this beforehand. That evening, after getting squared away, all of us headed to a local bar and grill. With only minutes to prepare something original, we had to stand in front of the CO and seasoned pilots, one by one, and recite our poem. I suppose his goal was to get us to think fast on the spot. It must have worked, because we all survived our tour of duty.

I love flying aerobatic planes. It inspires me. When I'm not flying I enjoy thinking about flight and what it means to be in the air, above all the craziness down below. I still write poetry, and a number of my poems are about flying. I try to write from a perspective that both an RC and full scale pilot can relate to. Some of the poems that follow have been published in the IMAC newsletter. One of them, a pantoum, took first place in a poetry contest.

I'll start off this collection with the only poem that survived from my tour in the Navy. Enjoy!

The $1 buck converters now go up to 2A, fixed voltage of course. Almost worth building a dummy load to see how long they really handle 2A before blowing up.
