Sorry guys, no pictures this weekend. I and several others of our merry band headed up to the Tangerine Soaring Championship in Orlando for the weekend. We all had a great time, I don't think any of us won in any of the classes (Expert or Sportsman) or types (RES, Unlimited or handlaunch). We did get pretty close to placing, but no cookies. Thanks to the Orlando's Buzzards Gordon Buckland we have a great event report (written and pictures). It can be found at: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...122345&page=10

Enjoy and hope to see you guys next weekend on the "hill".

More Ben photo goodness. Also, before I forget, this weekend is the Tangerine Soaring Championships in Orlando (11\27-11\29). Hope to see some of you guys there.

I didn't get a chance to shoot any pictures this last Saturday. I got to the field late and spent the little time I had winching on the SE bowl, while most of the guys sloped the East side. It was very light slope lift, but the thermals were great. Thankfully Ben C got off a few pictures. I've attached them for your viewing pleasure.

This last Saturday saw us doing a lot of winch flying. With the Tangerine Soaring championships a 2 weeks away, everyone was trying to get some TD practice. With the wind out of the NNW we were able to set our winch on the West side facing the North slope. Plenty of nice soft grass (between the pipes) for landings, along with a crystal blue sky.

No pictures for today, 11-07-09. Work had me put in some overtime. Extra money is nice, but that meant no flying today. Several of the guys had gone to the FSS contest in Orlando this weekend also, so I imagine there was a "light" group on the hill today. I've heard some reports that was a great East wind (20-25mph), but was very "choppy" air.
To make "amends" I have received some pictures from Ben C (Falcon880) and I'm posting them now. Hence the blog date of 10-29-09.

Enjoy,

Final shots. I'll post Ben's pictures when he mails them over to me.

Before I forget, couple things are coming up. Next weekend (11-7/11-8) is a thermal contest at the Orlando Buzzards field in Ovideo (Orlando). Several of the crew are going. Hope to see some of you folks up there.

Also, I noticed our Miami Mike has a Blog running. You can check it out here:

The last day in October gave us light East winds. So we spent the day on the Powerline Road side of the hill. I didn't get up until late, almost noon, because of a major traffic snarlup on the Sawgrass Expressway. I didn't shoot many pictures, but, Ben (falcon880) did. I should get some more shots from him later on. I heard there were some "spooky" flying earlier in the morning.
