Well gosh it's been a while and some changes have been made in the bilge (basement/garage). The door that was to go has gone and a wall appeared, the wall between the stalls of the garage is erected. The door wall (as I refer to it) got a couple of receptacles installed and wired as well as a couple in the partition wall on the shop side and one on the car side. A couple of light switches that were between the doors had to be moved and are on the car side of the partition wall near the door. I just finished tying the wiring into the house and need to finish the drywall work in the corner of the two walls and also put the sheetrock on the car side of the partition wall. Bought a small portable cabinet heater, 18000 btu that holds a 20lb propane bottle, has three settings I figure high to knock the chill off on days when its needed then low to maintain. So far we've has some overnight temps in the mid 20s and the shop temp is usually about 55 but the temps outside get back up during the day and in a month or so the low temps will hang on much longer and some heat will be mandatory. I have ten 2 X 48" light fixtures in my on line shopping cart at Loews and two boxes (20) T12 40 watt daylight tubes that I have to pickup in a day or so. There will be lots of light in there. That about brings things up to speed for the shop, Thanksgiving was nice. We had a couple of friends over and I cooked up the bird Texas style, deep fried in peanut oil, mmmmmm, mmmmmm . Lots of pie too. Thinking about putting some lights on the house for the holidays, makes Mamma happy and we all know that's a good thing. Later, Doc

Well I placed an order for some building materials and as soon as it's delivered will begin the next step in setting up my work area. I'm removing one of the two garage doors and erecting a wall there and will erect a partition wall between the two bays of the garage back 13 feet from the inside face of the wall the doors are mounted in. The garage is quite deep (about 30 feet) but has a narrow room partitioned off at the back and some space taken up where the stairway comes down from the main living floor of he house and a hallway to a den off of one side of the garage. I'm planning on keeping access to one bay open enough to put the Mammas little car in in case of too cold or snowy weather, one must always take care of SWMBO at all times. Once I get the walls complete I can organize the power tools and add some shelving and maybe another bench, that will leave lighting. I have put down safety flooring (rubber mats that lock together) and had some friends come over and help me put the glass top up on the main building bench (it's too heavy for me to pick up) and am starting lo look a bit organized. Quite a change from all the lawn equipment and boxes of things packed from the old house.

Ha! We'll just see about that. Also while I'm at it I need to see if I can figure out how to post photos too. I've been signed up here for a good while and not used it much, spending most of my online time at RCSB as my main interest in RC is scale aircraft. WWI Scale models to be more specific. The missus and I travel around the east part of the USA going to many of the Dawn Patrol events from say Rhinebeck in NY to The Blue Max in the Orlando area. Those are sort of the extreme ends with many more in Oh, Ind, Va, Ga, and more. Moved to Tennessee this year from Houston Texas and am almost ready to call a part of the basement garage area a workshop, still needs lights and some more shelf space but I have gotten close over the past few weeks. I had to build a shed in the back to store a bunch of stuff that was taking up most of the space I needed for the shop and get that all situated. Recently I have read a few threads here and have made a new friend in Epoxyearl and am conspiring to acquire a set of drawings for the Midwing model in 1/3 scale. I will start from scratch rather than use a kit as that suits me better. I'm 70 and have been a modeler all my life getting involved in RC in 1968 shortly after proportional radio became the norm,, taught myself to fly at the cost of several airplanes and a lot of repairs but did learn though I don't recommend doing it that way, what with simulators and ARF trainers and buddy cords there's no reason for it. Well that's a start, I'll try to put something here from time to time and hopefully keep it interesting, when I get started on the Midwing I'll no doubt start a thread.
Later all
