Happy Holidays to all watching!! This is a first flight of my Power Up 3.0 Paper Airplane System where you can fold your own airplane and attach this Receiver - Spar - Brushed Propeller System on your own paper creation. Using the Power Up 3.0 App that you can download for free for iPhone or Android, you can control Thrust and Rudder (2-Channel) during your flight. As I'm visiting my parents in Tracy, CA for Christmas Break, this was a perfect way to still be able to go out and fly.

Power Up 3.0 Airplane System Maiden Flight - Paper Dreams (6 min 36 sec)

When I built my paper airplane, I also attached .040 lightweight carbon fiber spars across the wing and within the spine of the body, increasing its rigidity and resistance to flopping around in the wind. Flights of 10 minutes can be achieved and charging takes anywhere from 25-30 minutes on a USB cable. The system is configured for a "pusher prop" type airplane and thrust is created from a brushed motor. Using your iPhone or Android, you can control the Rudder at the rotation of your wrist. Thrust is controlled with your thumb sliding up or down on the phone screen.

As you can see in the video, flights can be quite challenging. When flying this system, be prepare to set your expectations of RC Flight to "lets see how long we can keep this paper airplane flying." Fortunately, there were only light winds at the park, and after some light adjustments to the Elevons on my paper...Continue Reading

A December 18, 2015 winter wonderland Snow Float Maiden Flight with my Hobbyzone Custom (2S Brushless w/ Dual Servo Ailerons) "Champ Crophopper" at Arapaho Regional Park. There's nothing like the peace and calm of flying over snow.

Hobbyzone "Champ Crophopper" (2S Brushless w/ Ailerons) Snow Flight (4 min 41 sec)

Taking some .047 Music Wire, I re-duplicated the Front Connecting Strut Arm to replace the stock Front Connecting Arm of my UMX Carbon Cub SS Floats (with the front arm fitment for a Champ instead). Then I created a round foam "Keystone" that holds the rear UMX Carbon Cub SS Floats Bracket and is attached to the underbelly of the Champ Crophopper with Industrial Velcro. The section of the fuselage where the Velcro is attached to has a single layer of packing tape, making any future removal of that foam "Keystone" easy and damage-free.

These floats have seen many snow flights with my UMX Carbon Cub SS and my Hobbyzone Sport Cub S (2S Brushless) "Icarus", so now its Champ Crophopper's time to wear these "shoes."

REMAKE -- (MUSIC VIDEO EDITION: While listening to the "Fate Stay Night - Unlimited Blade Works" OST as I was watching the original Champ Crophopper Sunset Flight Video, I discovered that the Champ Crophopper Sunset Flight scenes were completely synced to the music soundtrack. With just a few minor video edits, here is the Music Video Edition of the Sunset Flight of Champ Crophopper!)

Hobbyzone "Champ Crophopper" (2S Brushless w/ Ailerons) - Music Video (3 min 3 sec)

An aerobatic sunset flight with my Hobbyzone Custom 2S Brushless with Dual Servo Ailerons "Champ Crophopper." I've fabricated my own custom Landing Gear Set using .047 Music Wire, duplicating the original bends of the stock Champ Landing Gear but also lengthening the legs of the Custom Gear Set for a higher prop clearance and stance. The .047 Music Wire Custom Landing Gear Set along with the Dubro Custom 1-3/4" Tundra Tires provide firm, yet shock-absorbing properties, delivering excellent ground handling and clearance.

This is the plane with the spirit that says, "We can change our fate.. Nothing is truly set in stone. I can and I will."

Good morning everyone! I'm new to this thread but I thought I would stop in and share my recent flight on my 2S Brushless Champ build. Here is an aerobatic sunset flight with my Hobbyzone Custom 2S Brushless with Dual Servo Ailerons "Champ Crophopper." Some of us in life have experienced what it feels like to be placed in roles or be given stereotypes in which we sometimes feel like we could never truly break free from. I intended this plane (which was originally designed to be a Basic 3-Channel Slow Flight Trainer) to be a symbol and an example that if given the chance, can break free from the constructs of its original design to be something unique, and something special. This ideal was best portrayed by Dusty Crophopper from the Disney Movie, Planes:

Here is the Premier Flight of my prototype #002 UMX PT-23A (2S Brushless w/ Dual Servo Ailerons) "Pegasus" converted from an Eflite UMX PT-17!

Full 1st Flight Footage with Landing from 00:00s to 5:08s.
2nd Battery Aerobatic Extra Flight Footage from 5:09s to 7:07s.

Eflite UMX PT 23A (2S Brushless w/ Dual Servo Ailerons) "Pegasus" Premier Flight (7 min 7 sec)

Completing the transformation of my experimental #002 Eflite UMX PT-23A "Pegasus," her internals have finally been converted to 2S Brushless using the same methods with identical components to my #001 Eflite UMX-PT-17 (2S Brushless w/ Dual Servo Ailerons) "Bella."

With the winds reaching averaging up to 8 mph with gusts nearing 12 mph, the UMX PT-23A (2S Brushless w/ Dual Servo Ailerons) "Pegasus" cut through wind and turbulence with no issues, as the AS3X stabilization was working overtime as she showcased her nimble aerobatic capabilities and solid flight characteristics.
