Well, don't get too excited to see the final result. My camera cannot show what it really looks like at night. For instance it exaggerates the left/right brightness difference (there is one, just not that bad) and looks like the right side is too dark to see. Also, this is not as pretty as a nice $70 kit. This is just 'light shining on your non-back-lite LCD". However, I assure you, I'm very happy and can see the whole LCD on my 9303 at night. I did sacrifice my "throttle hold switch" for the LED system. However I never plan to use "throttle hold". but you can wire it up how you want too.

It's pretty basic and cost me.. well.. nothing really. I had the buy the LED's at one point... but that was about it. I have tons of CAT5 cable laying around and solder too. These are white SuPER BRIGHT LED strips. But the way I mounted them, it's the side shine of the LEDs.

My 9303 already has a 3s lipo installed. These LEDs run on 2s or 3s directly (7v-13v is fine for them). So basically, I put in 6 LEDs and run them off the 3s lipo when I hit "throttle hold".

The pics are pretty self explanatory. In the end, I wired the 2 negatives to the battery connection, and the two positives to the switch. Then put a wire from the positive battery connection to the other point on the switch.

If someone can do a 9303 with less LEDs, show us how! ...Continue Reading

RCRadio Wiki - Please contribute!
Just started a basic radio wiki (basic for now). The main goal of this user collaborative wiki is to gain a visual walk-though for RC radios.
This started due to seeing the nice radios for sale, however not being able to see a visual graphical user interface tour. I'm very visual and like to see how something programs before I buy. But other useful links are great to add for each radio.

So, please help by adding your radio, links, tips, mods, VIDEO of how it programs, etc. This is not for a full-on "how to setup crazy mixes", but just basic navigation. "A feel of interface". So don't be afraid because you don't know everything about your radio (look at my easy vids eg.) Doesn't have to be perfect, as others will come and clean up/add/edit.

Team Fortress 2: Meet the Spy! (3 min 20 sec)

Posted by GFBurke | Apr 16, 2008 @ 05:18 PM | 28,097 Views
Hey, if anybody has time and can point me in the right direction. I'm trying to find my throttle hold switch or how to set it up. I think I'm just being slow in the head or something.
Here is my manual (PDF , sorry)
More setups
Another manual

I'd like to use one of my switches for all models (heli and aero) if possible.
This thing has every crazy programing option, I just assume it's here but blind to me.

This is not a review of how bright V10 paint is from , however what type of foam we can put their paint on. I could only test a few planes, but this should give you an idea of what to expect.

Once I opened the V10 paint, it smelled much like nail polish. The little applicator brush it comes with is much like it too. I've already read 3rd party reviews on "who is the brightest" and it is glowinc. So in knowing this, I wanted to experiment with possible night flying and the brightest paint around. A second review will take care of how well you really could fly at night with paint, paint with UV LED's and a mix but first, let's see what we can damage.

First I assume this will damage any foam that normal CA would. I was right.

Take a look at the images. We find out that this paint would ruin standard foam (Eflite Jenny, Castle Creations Kestral etc). However we also find out that the standard covering that GWS uses on it's SlowStick and Pico Tiger Moth results in no damage and the paint works great on. Also, anything that is EPP foam is safe as well.

At this point, unless it's that tough covering GWS uses or EPP - I wouldn't jump on it. But if you do want to test it without buying it, get some CA and put it on a scrap piece of foam first, because these results are the same for CA so far.

This was my life before I was bit by RC.

My "online friends".
Linear (boy can paint with a rattle can like non-other)
Bill Owen (one of his video's below)
one of Bills video
Yoshi (he got busy too, wife, baby etc)

We all kinda hung together and threw ideas to each other.

(btw, Yoshi has a Trex 450)

With my work, I ended up in a NewYorkTimes interview. Sold some things, but really did it for the fun of it.
Yoshi did some of my tips/tricks on air, which was cool.

Anyways, I have not done any PC modding for some time. That market isn't as popular as it had been - mostly due to it becoming "main stream". Also, we had to do something for a few years to upgrade our PC's because there was not really any significant updates to PC power for a while.

I still have lots of rheostats and turbine fans sitting around..
(just one of my mods)

Before PC's, I was a motor head. Built up mustang's , drag race, SCCA, etc. Got some trophies. But the idea of beefing up and tricking out cars almost translated some how into PC's.

Never attended college, my thought on college is.. well, I'll keep that to myself. However my hobbies has always landed me a well paying job that I enjoyed doing and still does today.

(My spelling and grammar suck probably because of the college thing, but I'll manage. )
