The "Cavalos do Cão" is a very aggressive wasp which attack much larger spiders in order to feed its young.

In that method power to the motor is limited because of the loss in long wire wire. With the light R/C equipment available now it is possible to have the battery on the plane and use an ESC and servo to control altitude (and a single line to reduce drag). The little yellow "Ringmaster" shown weight about 1 1/2 Oz and powered with a 16mm GWS brushed, would have been lighter with brushless and one Lipo! The heavier the plane, the beefier the pylon has to be but larger planes can be flown outside on longer line much like a regular Control line (I was using a photo tripod as pole with a water jug attached to weight it). Haven't flown it for several years but might try again this winter Hope this help!

The test mule for the HK 1.7 gram servos, 3mm Depron and 40 grams AUW. Was meant to use a DPW brushless with GWS 3X3 prop but finally went with another motor and 5X3 prop. Rx is FlyDream 4 ch. 1 gram with HK 3A single cell ESC and 180mA batt. fly nice and not too fast despite the weight Was a quick build fro a few years ago languishing in the closet Was supposed to use the Spektrum ar-2000 servos but I wasn't too pleased with them!

Totally off topic but the music from the movie "O Cangaciero" has been in the back of my mind for awhile and I've done some research on Virgulino "Lampiao". Here is the old version from his time in the 30's,it was recorded in 1957 and the singer is an ex-cangacieros("Volta seca" the nickname of Antonio Alves de Souza) from Lampiao's group; it was sung during the failled attack on Mossorro in 1927!

Cleaning up the hobby room while preparing to move I found that old pop-pop experiment from many years ago. Its about 12" long carved out of pink foam and was using standard size servo/Rx+ a 500 mA Nicad pack! Was using Willesco solid fuel and ran for about 5 minute on two tablets, wont be moving to the new place so it will live only as picture

A new bird for the Flydream 1 gram Rx, 16" span and the faithfull AD-C5 on one cell R.E.T with two AS-2000 servos. It fly Ok with a 4.5"X3" GWS and one Zippy 240 mA. 3mm Depron wing and 1/16" balsa tail with 4mm carbon fiber tube in between!

It has flown finally, here is what it look like in its final configuration

Fortunately the week-end is still youg and if the world doesn't end today at 6pm as claimed by that Californian's sect I still have sunday...and monday (a holiday in Canada)

Added the landing gear today (1/32"music wire) and glued the foam cowl on the firewall. The total weight with motor,prop,esc is now 28.3 grams. That leaves me some elbow room for my choice of servo, I feel that even if I use the FD 2.5 gram servos and 240 mA Zippy I will still be under 45 grams rtf
I have another plane on the assembly line which will use two Toki and I don't really want to use AS-2000 on that plane. I have two more of these Rx so might build another "Guided Mite " by Ralph Bradley

At 14" span its kind of between the junior and senior serie, the wing is 3mm depron with sanded airfoil and the fuse mostly 1/16" balsa with lightening holes and covered with red solite. The top fuse in the front is sanded 9mm depron. So far it weight 24.5 gram with motor(AD-C5 /3700Kv)so I am still wondering about using Toki servos,AS-2000 or the Flydream which weight almost 3 grams. It will be RET and one cell (180<240 mA)and the prop is GWS EP-4530 which give good performances with that motor, the esc is the excellent TGY DP 3A. Since I have several of these Rx I have other builds in the pipeline

Got my stuff from RC-Modules after a little custom delayMade my "Plantraco monolith" style module adapter which I can use with appropriate trainer plug to fit various Tx (Hitec/Futaba-DIN,Futaba square and Airtronic 5 pins-DIN).A nice touch from RC-Modules, all my Rx had been tested and bound to my DIY module so it was plug-and-play expect for my "monolith" variation! Here are a few picture of the system, the Rx is really small and does weight only 1 gram. I tried it with a single cell and also with the 5V bec of a CC Pixie-7 and the servos have a good speed with one cell or 5V. The servos weight a bit more than the supposed 2.5 grams but still a bit less than 3 grams likes the infamous BA 2.5. Off course I am in a flurry of building with all these micros flight packs. For the really light stuff I'll use my Toki servos and maybe the AS-2000. Would be swell if FD could come out with an actuator capable Rx including a small 2<3 Amps brushed esc

Since I'll soon be getting those nifty 1 gram Rx from Flydream to replace my troublesome and expensive MicroInvent system.

Did some RTP experiment last year, the weather is turning nicer now so I'll resume. Build a small profile "Ringmaster" for that with r/c assist. Fly nice with the IPS &3X3 DD prop but I have to work on the line length,too short makes it impossible to do stunt since my photo tripod is relatively low over the ground! Its very zippy on 2 cells but the Cox dacron line has too much drag for longer than 20 feets. Will try .008" steel wire next

I have some goodies on the way from RC-Modules,namely a few of these 1 gram 4 ch. 2.4Ghz rx and decided to revive my old micro "Todd's Tiny" which I had to put away last year because of troubles with the original MicroInvent minor. It is 12" span with 3 toki servos and Microbatic outrunner. It uses V-tail mix off course and A/R mix and uses the HK 3A esc and one 100mA cell.A bit fast for indoor because of the KFM airfoil When my MicroInvent started to act up I didn't really wanted to spend another $80, and wasn't quite trilled with either Plantraco or Spektrum AR-6400 so when FD cames out with that nifty 1 gram Rx for only $20 I jumped into 2.4 Ghz. The transmiter module+Rx for FD cost the same as the Plantraco brick alone,the AR-6400 would have required a Spektrum module and the Rx brick is a bit heavy at more than 3 grams and not flexible in installation because of its configuration.
