We are updating the banners we put up each year for the fly in. One of them we have made a practice of listing the sponsors on.
So if you are thinking of donating or sponsoring any part of the event please contact me! We want to put you on the banner. It is 4'X8' And makes a good backdrop for pictures!
The clock IS ticking but there is still time to join us in helping find a cure for MS. Any and all donations are helpful and gratefully appreciated!

Well the fly in is getting closer!
There is still so much to do. Hobby King has stepped up again as title sponsor and has shipped prizes and other things for the fly in. And other sponsor has too.
I will start posting who has donated soon.

But there is a lot needed yet too. We need more prizes for the raffles. And we need bodies at the fly in to help manage and run the event.

And help contacting businesses and sponsors, And most importantly we need lots and lots of people to attend the event! After all it is the people that makes this event a success!
People to come and fly and have fun. People to buy raffle tickets and enjoy the prizes.

Keep in mind the real goal of the event is to help find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. And to educate people about MS and about the greatest hobby there is!
So if you want to help in any way at all please do! It can be helping get donations. Sending emails or helping man the event. And of course just coming and taking part in all the fun helps a lot!

I wish everyone could have been there when I handed over the check to the MS Society . To hear the applause from the people there. To see the gratitude in the eyes and on the faces of the people there that deal with MS every day of their lives. It means a lot more then I can tell you to them and to me.

I have MS. And I want to help others like me to have hope for the future and a cure and end to MS.

You can help, You can make a real difference.

For anyone who might needs to reach me. My cell phone is acting up. I can make calls and receive text messages. But I cannot receive calls. It rings but I cannot answer. it is set now to go right to voice mail. So if you call leave me a message and I will call you back.

I have a new phone on the way. My number will be changing.
Contact me if you need the new number.
When the new phone arrives I will set the old one to forward all calls to the new number till the end of the month. Then the old one will be shut off.

So I took Kayleigh to work at Wal Mart. I come home and plop my tired butt in the recliner. My hand drops to the side of the chair absent minded and my fingers touch something wet!

My First thought is Cameron. So out of reflex I look around for her ( Pomeranian) speaking her name loudly.
I see her on the sofa looking at me with a puzzled look....

Then I realize there is a lot more water then she could leave behind. A LOT more.
I get up and look around. There is water all over the floor leading to the model room. I open the door and step inside. SQUISH!!! there is that nasty sound as I step into very wet carpet. I look and see the water is coming from the closet where the water heater is. And the water is warm...:ce nsored:
well I know where it came from now!
The lousy water heater let go!
I waddle over to the water heater and find the water and gas shut offs. Get them off and go out side to find a hose. Get it hooked up and get the remaining water drained out side.

Now of course this all takes place after 10 pm.
So no repairs that night!

When Angi gets home she walks up to the door from her truck with a puzzled look seeing the hose leading out of the house. That is till I tell her what happened. She had about the same feeling I did.
We cleaned up the water as best we could. And the next morning headed out to get a water heater.

I did finally manage to get it swapped out. Do you have any idea how NASTY old WET carpet and padding smells? Carpet that was from 1978 mind you? Well I am hear to tell you that it makes a wet dog smell like roses in comparison!

So now the mess is gone ( so is the carpet) and we have a new non leaking water heater installed.

My mood is better now. And I give the old one a kick each time I see it. ( not hauled off yet) but that was NOT a good evening!

And thank ( hopefully) those who won it and help keep us free and safe.
But I think there are some from the past who we should remember too.

This person was a soldier and fought for America. The America he knew and loved.
He undoubtedly left behind family and friends who grieved for him and missed him.

He is a part of the history that helped make this country what it is today.
Soldiers like this man deserve to be remembered too.

Some one's son perhaps brother, father or spouse... Still a person.

So There I was sound a sleep, Next thing I know I have rolled off the bed and hit the floor. Now that would not be so bad... But as I fell my right leg hit the frame of the bed... and that is not the bad part. My big toe hit the edge of the steel bed frame and split my toe nail in two directions. As you can well imagine that was not a good feeling. So to add even more to my morning as I am trying to get off the floor and get my toe unstuck from the frame my left leg goes into spasm! So there I am part way up my right big toe leaking like the EXXON VALDEZ and my other leg hurting like crazy!

I finally managed to get off the floor. And the rest of my day was shot!

Here are my two flyable Mountain Models planes. Both are ready to fly. The SmoothE Sport is waiting on weather for maiden flight.

The Switchback Sr. has 4 flights since I received it.
Not sure I can afford to keep both airplanes. And I need to raise cash for the Fly In T shirts. So one or both may go up for sale.

I am sure most of the people on here are well acquainted with the little battery powered dremel tool.
Very handy to have.
A little while ago I was in the other room and I hear a loud buzzing noize.
I walk into my model room and my dremel is buzzing away full blast! So what is so special about that you ask? Well for one the battery was not in it!

I walked over and picked it up. as soon as I had it in my hand it stopped.
There is NO doubt it was on. I could see the cut off wheel spinning. And I know the sound it makes when it is on. Not to mention there was nothing else in the room on and nothing in there that makes a noise anything like that.

So you tell me... How did it turn itself on? And even more important how did it run with no battery????

Take a look at the picture. First one to name it correctly wins a life time supply of propwash!

Ok so you don't really win anything except the deep satisfaction that you got it right!

I have posted this in the past. But since we are getting ready for ODB3 I think it is time to re post it.
Wes

A FRIEND OF MINE HAD THIS IN HIS BLOG AND IT IS SO TRUE ...THE THINGS WE GO THROUGH ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS ..IF YOU CARE AT ALL EVEN JUST A TEENY BIT YOU WILL TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS.

I have MS also and what is said here is so very true!

Understanding What Having MS Means

Having MS means many things change, and a lot of them are invisible. Unlike having cancer or being hurt in an accident, most people do not understand even a little about MS and it's effects on us; and many of those who think they do know are actually misinformed. In the spirit of informing those who wish to understand...

These are the things that I would like you to understand about me before you judge me:

Please understand that being sick does not mean I'm no longer a human being. I have to spend most of my day in considerable pain and exhaustion and if you visit I probably don't seem like much fun to be with, but I'm still me stuck inside this body. I still worry about school, and work, and my family and friends, and most of the time I'd still like to hear you talk about yours too.

Please understand the difference between "happy" and "healthy". When you've got the flu you probably feel miserable with it for a week or two, but I've been sick for years. I can't be miserable all the time, in fact, I work hard at not being miserable. So if you're...Continue Reading
