This programming card is specifically designed for the ZTW Mantis Series electronic speed controls.

HOW TO USE THE LED PROGRAM CARD:

ZTW Program card with LED display is easy to use and convenient to carry. All of the programmable functions are shown on the program card.
Turn on the ESC. Remove the signal wire and plug it into the top-socket on the program card, wait for 2 seconds until the LED is on.
If ESC is not connected with the batteries, the program card should be connected with other power supply, the range of power supply is from 5.0V to 6.3V.

Press the button ”Menu” on the program card and circularly select each programmable function. At that time the number of programmable function will be displayed on the left of the LED, the current value will be displayed on the right side. Then press the button “Value” to change the value and press the button “OK” to confirm. At the same time the Red indicating LEDs of both program card and the ESC will blink. Turn off the ESC, the modified settings will be saved in the ESC`s memory.
Press the button “Reset” to restore the default settings.

Real Flight 8 . This is my first RealFlight SW purchase. Now that they support third-party USB devices that made it more appealing for me.

I was on ClearView RC for years before this.

I was initially a bit disappointed since the improvement in physics over ClearView didn't seem enough to warrant an extra $100. I pretty much fly fixed wing 3D.

However after trying out the Sbach 32% and I more satisfied. That plane seems be way more realistic than the other stock 3D planes, off-the shelf tuning is better.

However I still find it too easy to hover in RF8.

ClearView while a bit quirky in the hovering space presented more of a challenge. Therefore anyone practicing hovering in ClearView would stand a better chance in real life. Expect that RealFlight supports torque rolls that ClearView does not do a great job with.

However I am failing to see a large difference between the other stock non-3D planes in RF8 and CV. In both sims the planes track as if they have a gyro....i.e. very well and fly pretty much the same.

I would say that anyone on a budget should still consider CV, it got me years of mileage and still learnt 3D on it. I can totally see a parent on a budget purchasing CV for their kid who wants to get into RC and needs a very decent simulator.

However for the $100, RF8 has tons more features (challenge, scenery creator, drones, VR support, easier plane model setup, better wind simulation) and the stock SBach 32% is more generally realistic on RF8 than the best 3D plane in CV.

Hey fellow Classic Pattern Enthusiasts,

Image updates - Just want to post a link to the submissions thread for Classic Pattern Plane images that you'd like to see in the Gallery.

Sorry for neglecting the Image Gallery. I have several other online projects that I'm focusing on right now.

I have a large cache of images, actully the second part of an update I started but haven't finished, i think its M thru Z planes collected over the, eek!, last few years. So haven't lost interest, just a lack of time issue.

Here's the link to the submissions thread I started for adding photos. RCG-s-Classic-Image-Gallery-update-A-Z-planes submission thread.

Post them here and I'll eventually get them in the Gallery.

Hope to update the Gallery soon.

Regards,

Bryan

A couple of years ago I won a Thunderbug 120 kit on EBay.

I decided to build it for next year, right now it is basically framed up, and ready for final sanding of the main structure.

It is going to have an Evolution 26GX gas engine and metal gear tower servos.

Some of the mods:

Two piece wing with CF wing tube

Widened the fuselage so the engine and muffler will be fully enclosed, and nothing will protrude from it.

Clipped the wing a bit

Adding a great planes Sportster 60 canopy.

Hangar 9 30cc stick landing gear.

Made wingtips instead of the plates

And made the turtle deck include the fin, plans show that stops at the stabilizer flat,

So it should be a more pleasing looking plane than stock.

Still working on the color scheme.

Gone, but not forgotten. At least not entirely.

In the few years since the last post I've added a couple more quads to the collection, a couple more Helis, including the V977 I'd been wanting since they came out, introduced my kids to the joys of RC flight, flown combat with Game of Drone before they became the Aerial Sports League, taken up Archery, and now added a couple of RC trucks to the paddock.

The joys of it all...
