Well I bought a Leading Edge Gliders 60" P51 kit about 3 years ago but put it on the shelf as other projects seem to have got in the way.
I bought it pre shaped and sanded with removable wing option. I also bought the EPP Build Clinic DVD set previous to this build so I was able to build and watch TV at the same time. I had previously built an EPP Schweizer 1-26 glider also sold by LEG but produced by Rocky Mountain Sailplane Factory so I had a bit of a heads up on the build style.
The build took a while but the result has been worth the effort. I decided to try my hand at some scale detail but have limited time frame with the upcoming Manilla Slope Fest . I chose SPEEDBALL ALICE as the inspiration and I am happy with the results so far. It is what I consider a good 20 footer (It will look great at 20 foot away). Just waiting on a suitable pilot to arrive to help complete the transformation.

Yes I spelt it correct. I am now building a F4U Corsair out of Coreflute (Corex, real estate sign stuff). I downloaded the free plans from the South African boys,https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...ight=corrosair
I built the Mig of theirs and it was a great success but it had a premature ending in a fence. I recycled all the gear and other usable parts and they are going to find a home in the Corrosair.
So far I have spent about 2 days getting it this far.Next are the wings and the cockpit.

I first saw it in a 1993 magazine and decided right there and then that I just had to build one. I ordered the plans through MyHobbyStore in the UK and waited patiently. I read through 2 RC Groups forums on the Eddie the Eagle build to familarise myself with the build whilst the plans were in transit.
I decided to make it out of Polystyrene as I had access to lots of it. I wasn't sure how the weight would be in comparrison to the Blue/Pink foam that others used. I also had some pop-up air brakes laying around that I thought I may just use incase I find myself flying in a limited LZ.

Have always had a liking of the Japanese Zero as a warbird, mainly because no-one else had one. They all had Spits, Mustangs and Corsairs. I have embarked on a scratch built traditional 60 size Zero modified to be a suitable PSS sloper. The plans are Model World ones, fuse is unchanged but all flying surfaces enlarged to suit. I am making this fuse as a plug for a mould so I can have a fibre-glass shell. Have changed the airfoil to MH32 and changed the wing saddle to suit a zero incidedence.
This has been a slow process but am trying to get it all together for Manilla Slopefest 2012.
