So I think I’ll start a slope soaring logbook here.

This will only be for my gliders not for my Drones. So Drone flight will not be logged here.
I fly Drones professionally for Real Estate photography & videos.

((started flying RC with gliders January 1996 so this Log Book is far from complete, but might as well start now))

Whenever I go fly I’ll post where I’m flying and what I’m flying.

Today I was Flying the Trinity, the Carbon Bird, the P-51 Mustang, the Momba and the Weasel today at Lilly Shapell Park.
Was there from 1:30 to 4:40

Location
28737 Drakes Bay, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677

And it was a good day as far as flying conditions, very windy, I would say 16-18mph gusting to over 20mph straight West.
Straight west is best for this slope.

Got a pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks afterwards.

Had a really good day. And I needed it. This week was very rough, Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday were all spent at the hospital getting IV fluids for my daughter and her ongoing illness. That has been very hard on the whole family.

Lilly Shappel Park is located in the Hillcrest Estates development. The park is within the gated community and access is provided through the visitor entry gate during daylight hours. It is located on the east rim of the Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park in the City of Laguna Niguel.
Lilly Shapell Park is the home of the Laguna Niguel Slope Soaring Guild and is known for its spectacular views and thermal...Continue Reading

I am going to start a blog for a reference point of all the frequently asked questions and problems with the Phantom series quads.
I will answer as many questions as I can
Information from the various forums and threads that I find and think worth archive here in one place.

Hopefully it will be helpful for all the Phantom pilots.

Also I will put the question and answer in one post. So users do not have to read a question and then go through all the post in-between the question and the answer.

This blog will have info on the P2 and P3 and P4 DJI drones.

I would prefer people do not post in this thread, as I want it to be for reference only, not discussion.
If you have a question about the P2, P3, or P4 please post those questions in the appropriate threads in the multirotor forum.
Myself or someone else will answer your questions there.
Unless of course you find your answer here, and i hope you do.

I will add pics/info as I go. I will also add links to videos that I find useful.

THIS THREAD IS FOR STUFF I THINK IS USEFUL.
Lately I have been finding questions and answers that guys ask and answer on various threads. (Mostly about the Inspire and the Phantom) Then I just copy and paste the questions and answers here so I can find the info easier.

A little background info on me.
I started flying RC with gliders (back in January 1996) Then in (October 2004) I started flying electric airplanes. Then in (April 2013) I started flying Multi-rotors (aka : Drones)

In (March 2007) I took my first aerial photography with an RC airplane. Now I use DJI multirotors to do my aerial photography and aerial videos.

My F550 has T-Motor MN3110-15 kv is 780 Navigator Series. The props are T-Motor 10x4.5
Gains on 550 with T-Motor props. T-Motor props require much lower gains than any other prop I have tried. And I have tried a lot.
Basic, pitch 100%, roll 100%, yaw 100%, vertical 100%.
Attitude, pitch 60%, roll 60%.

My 450 LEDs are : The lights I used were Turnigy. Item TRU8944 white. And TRU8941 red.
Each 1 meter strip has the leads attached!

After my family and my faith, I have two passions in life – slope flying and RC aerial photography.
I love all things flying and aviation related and I obtained my private pilots license Or technically Private Pilot Certificate in 1994 at John Wayne Airport, in Orange County California. I have done some skydiving but today, I don’t do either of those as much as I used to. Instead, I’ve found a real passion for slope flying and RC aerial photography. I started flying RC with gliders (back in January 1996) t’s where I was first introduced to RC flying.
I was riding my mountain bike in the canyon below a slope called Lilly Shappel and I saw Wade Kloss flying a Dave Sanders Dave’s Aircraft Works PSS Warbird.
I put my Mountain bike in the back of the truck drove up and around the hill to get to the slope and after Wade explained everything I fell in love with it. That was my first experience seeing anyone,(in person) , fly RC. I went out and bought a Wanderer a bottle of CA and some Accelerator at Gyro Hobbies, oh and some scotch tape and went and taught myself how to fly. I beat the heck out of that Wanderer. And then quickly went out and bought and built a Dave Sanders (DAW) Daves Aircraft Works 48 inch wing span EPP P-51 Mustang. That was my first PSS aircraft.
So I also learned to fly RC at Lilly Shappel. Before the houses were built, of course.

So RC gliders in (January 1996) Then in (October 2004) I started flying electric airplanes....Continue Reading

My method of operation on RC Groups & in life...

1. Share my thoughts with humility.
"Don't try to act important but enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don't think you know it all "
Romans 12:16 (NLV)
"Never let selfishness or pride be your guide. Instead, be humble and give more honor to others than to yourselves. Do not be interested only in your own life, but be interested in the lives of others "
Philippians 2:3-4 (NCV)
2. Respect others ideas with courtesy.
"We must bear the burden of being considerate of the doubts and fears of others..." Romans 15:2 (LB)
3. Share others problems with sympathy & empathy.
"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. "
Galatians 6:2 (NIV)
4. Encourage each other with accountability.
"Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. "
Hebrews 10:24 (NIV)
I would say it means that as we encourage each other we encourage with sincerity. Say it if your really mean it. Be nice but be sincere! Also the accountability is that if I say something wrong I am accountable to my peers. If a peer corrects me when I am wrong I will not get upset with the correction or the peer.
5. Always be motivated by love. Not by ego, pride, or materialism.
You must be motivated by love or you will treat people as projects. Treat them as people, as friends.
"Everything you do must be done with love. "
1 Corinthians 16:14 (NLT)
"Let love be your highest goal."
1 Corinthians 14:1 (NLT)
#5 is a big one. It is all about love, love is the key!
