Efficient recovery of the Four Star -40 RC plane. I say this as I had the plane in my hands about 15 minutes after I launched the Quad. This plane went down last Thursday evening. With all the poor weather since then this was my first chance to help. Four Star looking better than expected after 3 days of rain.
My pilot camera was mounted on a pitch gimbal. For now it is Y'd off of the Go Pro brushless gimbal into the receiver. I still need to adjust the mechanical pitch to better match the brushless gimbal. May look into putting the pitch gimbal on another channel and working with a mix. Found very cool to land looking down below the copter when throttling down.

Great evening for the Mia Ultralight Slow Stick. With extra goggles the others in the club took a ride. This is my ground recording and had no telemetry at this time. I timed the flight for 10 minutes and only used 800mah out of a 2200mah, 3 cell lipo.

FPV ON THE WATERS OF CREVE COEUR LAKE (12 min 16 sec)

Windy Air Boat used as a FPV platform on the Creve Coeur Lake. The plan was to be out early in the morning. With no winds and glass top lake for the test of distance across the hole lake from one end to the other. But sleeping in sounded good too and the wife was like "hell no" (spotter). So I settled for early afternoon and was able to test the new 360 servo, link camera and updated the motor as the bearings were sounding like crap after being used for 5 years. E-flite 10, 1100kv used.
Now if I could get an OSD fitted into this arrangement would be nice. I find it difficult to see exactly were I had started or navigate across the lake in a strait line of some sort. Would like to see something like a Skylark OSD used.

The beginning of something different in the way of FPV for me. Lot's of fun! Next chance I get is to push it for 1.2 miles with some speed.

My first test of the RC Windy Airboat done up with FPV gear. The original test was to be done at Creve Coeur lake, lake was closed for a ski event.
With the debris in this lake I decided 1/4 of the throttle on this trip. Last 15 seconds I went to 1/2 throttle.

Gina and I searched out a couple Marina's while visiting Clearwater lake. But with all the rain the lake was rising quickly. The owner of Bluff View Marina (Dave) would have a boat for us on Sunday morning. We woke up to more rain and cold weather on Sunday. Instead we headed off to Taum Sauk Mountain for a 3 mile hike to see the Falls on the highest mountain in Missouri.

My FPV sessions starts at Creve Coeur Lake, with first shot taken of new students learning to Row. Followed by seasoned rowers enjoying a run across the lake. Afterwards I'm in Pacific checking out the club field to find the owner and his son watching the Meramec River come up onto his land. He was showing his son how to bow for 25# carp that were in the flood waters. I was out low searching for the carp with the HT- FPV Quad copter while his son enjoyed a flight on the goggles. We had to leave as the water was coming up quickly. As I waited for my son to arrive near by, I shot a couple of scenes of the town of Pacific and Amtrak train passing by.
