RC VTOL Style Jet using stock Hubsan X4 Quadcopter as propulsion.
Model is constructed from Wallfoam, Tissue and Balsa and weighs 5 grams, 40cm in length and 26cm wingspan. Flight time is 3-4 minutes with stock battery.

These Cessna floats are built from wallfoam, the struts are plastic straws and the landing gear dolly is steerable. I used the Fiddlers Green plan for the Grumman Kingfisher (WW2 bird on floats) to make the shape for the floats. I use UHU creative and hot glue for all my sticking.
The floats on the Vapor are party rocket balloons, they are attached with double sided tape to foam pads so they are easily replaced incase one pops. The factory covering was replaced with cling film (easy 5 minute job) and the broken stock prop replaced with a CF 3 bladed prop....Continue Reading

14.4cm length, 28 cm wingspan, 7.1 gram AUW. Had to keep the weight down so no space for machine guns, bombs, pilots. I used balsa for struts and the landing gear is fashioned from foam plates and plastic drinking straws....Continue Reading

Indoor flying Potters Bar (2 min 17 sec)

An oldie but goodie, the plan for this Boeing 737 is free. I was surprised that this unlikely candidate for aerodynamic integrity would actually be pretty good at completing several circuits in my tiny bedroom. I accidentally the wings about 3mm to far back so the overall shape might make you go to airliners.net to verify my mistake. With a bit of down elevator it flies at scale speed but I prefer max up elevator for slowing this little airliner down. 21cm Length, 22cm Wingspan, AUW 6 grams....Continue Reading

I built this one from Durobatics foam and FG plans. About 2 hours worth of work.
Flies very well and for some reason this one has some good range for Infrared control, I would attribute that to the white foam being able to reflect more IR light into the receiver.

Quick and easy build. You can find these plans here. http://genius.x0.com/pmdirectory/mamecraft/x29g.html
AUW 6 grams, 11cm wingspan, 17 cm length.

This is probably the largest X-Twin I have built, 71cm wingspan, 57 cm length, 35.3 gram AUW. The thrust of the two 7mm X-Twin motors amounts to nearly 25 grams so there is plenty of power to fly this big ugly flying freak! You can find these plans from Fiddlers Green, I used the large X-15 launching version, I think it is the nicest version. It took me about 7 hours to do this bird up, from bare wall foam and tissue to final finish. I left out the 3rd channel option as on previous B-52 models that I built I found that this function is not really needed for scale bomber jet flight. The wheels really turn, the axle is simply a toothpick through a plastic straw glued to the depron wheels....Continue Reading

Chinese colors Mig-15 from Fiddlers Green plans. I used some interesting components from a new indoor RC plane. AUW 12 grams, Length 18 cm, Wingspan 17 cm. Flies like a space rocket on drugs. Note the transparent plastic horizontal extension to increase control authority in turns. The wallfoam and tissue airframe is reinforced with carbon fibre as this setup is built for speed....Continue Reading

This particular Sabre is twice the size of the previous Sabre model in a prior blog post yet it uses the same X-Twin components from the Original Silverlit Biplane. 19.2 grams AUW, 34cm wingspan, 36 cm length. Flies gracefully and authentically....Continue Reading
