This is the flight of my Parkzone Ultra Micro F-27Q Stryker, using a Spektrum DX6 and an Eflite 2S 200mAh 30C Lipo.

Parkzone Ultra Micro F-27Q Stryker 180 Flight - Eleanor (5 min 15 sec)

This Parkzone Ultra Micro F-27Q Stryker 180 arrived yesterday, much to my excitement in practically mint condition. Upon checking all controls, I did confirm however that the right rudder servo needed replacement. Fortunately, the seller did supply a brand new matching Spektrum 1.7 gram servo with the packaging inside the box as originally stated. I immediately went to work. Replacement was easy and after 30 minutes, I had her all put together again. Now all the surfaces are working properly.

Using the manual, I set the rates and expo accordingly. I set the plane up with the Dual Rates and set the plane to default on Low Rates. Checking CG with an Eflite 2S 200mAh 30C Lipo, I found it spot on when placed just a bit aft from center of the long battery tray. Off to the park I went.

The Stryker is fasssst. I was half throttle most of the time and on low rates and it felt like I was going full throttle on my 3S UMX P-47 Thunderbolt most of the time. Full throttle passes down the length of the park can be described as, "better than caffeine." I think what really took me by surprise was how agile this plane flew, even on low rates. This plane also disappears, quickly! I can see why the Stryker had a low survivability rate with pilots.. My flight assessment is that you...Continue Reading

This is the Maiden Flight of my TechOne Venus 3D PNP 828mm with a Spektrum DX6 Transmitter and Spektrum AR400 Receiver.

TechOne Venus 3D PNP 828mm Maiden Flight - Scarlet (5 min 45 sec)

Having flown a variety of RC fixed-wing aircraft for the past 2 years, lately I've been interested in the 3D-style of flight. For the past month I've been mainly flying my Eflite UMX AS3Xtra, which is an absolute blast to fly at the park, even with some wind to add to the challenge. This peaked my interest in finding a suitable beginner to intermediate 3D plane with more substance. At the recommendation of one of my friends on RCGroups.com, I checked out some of the TechOne 3D planes at Motion RC. That's where I found the TechOne Venus 3D PNP: https://www.motionrc.com/products/te...6-wingspan-pnp

At $109, the TechOne Venus Plug and Play was a deal. I didn't want to spend a lot of time building an ARF (Almost Ready to Fly) model, only to possibly crash it on the first flight. With the PNP (Plug and Play) version, assembly was pretty straightforward and also comes with a fairly detailed manual. Unfortunately, during the build process, I discovered that the Aileron Servo was defective and stripped. I immediately replaced it with a Hitec HS-5055 9-gram Metal Gear Servo. I also chose not to install the Landing Gears at this time, as I intended to mainly fly this plane over grass for belly landings. As a fast track to putting this plane together, I also watched this video...Continue Reading

This is the Performance Flight of my Eflite UMX Radian 2S Brushless with Dual Servo Ailerons outfitted with the Parkzone Ultra Micro F-27Q Stryker Powerplant (Eflite BL180 3000Kv Motor / Stryker 3.75 x 3 Prop). This video is best viewed in Full-Screen and in HD.

Eflite UMX Radian 2S Brushless w/ Dual Servo Ailerons Stryker Powerplant Upgrade Flight (15 min 20 sec)

Click here for the full RCGroups.com blog write-up with photos on the original Eflite UMX Radian 2SBL with Dual Servo Ailerons conversion process, along with video of the Maiden Flight: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...0#post34840924

I've upgraded my original setup of the Eflite UMX Radian 2S Brushless conversion with Dual Servo Ailerons that used the Eflite BL180 2300Kv Motor and Eflite 5 x 2.75 Prop to the Parkzone Ultra Micro F-27Q Stryker Powerplant which uses the Eflite BL180 3000Kv Motor and Stryker 3.75 x 3 Prop. The Eflite UMX Carbon Cub SS Rubber Spinner was also replaced with the much lighter Eflite UMX Sbach 342 3D Foam Spinner. The Hyperion 2S 330mAh Babbelbatt Lipo was used for the performance upgrade.

First, let me apologize for the much longer flight video. I typically don't like to post lengthy videos, but in order to capture the performance capabilities of this highly upgraded UMX Radian, I felt that it was necessary. With this Stryker Powerplant upgrade, the reduced nose weight from the lighter Parkzone Ultra Micro F-27Q Stryker Prop and the much lighter Eflite UMX Sbach 342...Continue Reading
