Our son has now totally recovered from the eye injury. He had his final appointment at U of M this month, and they determined he has near perfect vision in the injured eye! Thanks be to God!

Here's why.

Last Friday our 5 year old got poked in the eye with a pencil, perforating his cornea. That resulted in a trip to the local emergency room, then an ambulance ride to University of Michigan hospital in Ann Arbor followed by 2 hours of surgery. They told us the first priority was to save the eye, and having future sight would be a bonus.
All went well. We had a return trip to U of M on Saturday and another one today. The eye is looking good, there is no sign of infection, or retinal detachment, and he was able to track the doctor's finger movement with it. He will be going there again in 2 days for another exam. There will be another surgery in the future to take the stiches out.

For today's appointment one of my wife's friends came over to stay with our 3 year old while we were away. She is a wonder woman, and spent the day cleaning our house, and when we returned it was spotless and organized.
Tonight my wife turned on the oven. A few minutes later the smoke alarm is going off and she is yelling for me. I arrived in the kitchen to see the broiler drawer under the oven open, and filled with flaming hot mitts and hot pads, and a thick cloud of smoke filling the kitchen. A shot with the fire extinguisher ended the flames. Apparently her friend thought the broiler was a storage drawer. After the fire was out and the smoke had cleared I asked my wife if it was too soon to look back on this and laugh. She said it was.

I did a range check before I flew today. With the TX antenna collapsed and the TX upright on the ground, I walked away holding the Formosa, and got 150 feet before any servo twitching started.

The plane behaved perfectly while flying in the same park where it did the unintentional 1/4 snap roll a few weeks ago.

It's time for a new receiver. 2 serious glitches with my Formosa in 3 days, and I am done with the cheapie. I installed a Berg by CC. Smaller, lighter and failsafe enabled. I expect to have no more problems with the plane suddenly diving for the ground, or going into a 1/4 snap roll on its own.
