I found a dozen micro quadcopter drones in a closet. They appear to be between 3 and 6 years old. All ready to fly sets that include the quadcopter, transmitter, accessories and user manual. I decided to get LiPo batteries and have some fun before waste management got them. The oldest drones have imaginative designs and are festive night flyers. I was flabbergasted when I saw an identical quadcopter at Walmart this past weekend. It was selling for $80 on sale ($100 less 20%). I have completely under estimated the value of these things. The future is now.
The eclectic collection includes a quadcopter that uses WiFi and a smart phone instead of a RC transmitter. Two others combine a phone and a transmitter for assisted flight. Luckily the apps were still available to download. There are fast FPV drones which come with 5 monitors and sophisticated looking transmitters. A 220mm wheelbase camera drone can be flown in windy conditions and it has the best range of all. The smallest might be the most recognizable of the group because of the Tiny Whoop craze that followed. They're all fun.

I have discover the buzz about the Tiny Whoops.

Some time ago I tried to get a Bat 100 up and flying but never did figure it out. Sat by my computer staring at me, day after day.

I was in a RC store grabbing a couple things when I saw them flying a Blade Induxtric Switch. It looks very smooth in the air. I bought one just to give it a try.

I had flown the Blade double rotor helicopters for a while and enjoyed that immensely. I have about 6 controllers for those so I figured I could, and did, just bind and fly with those.

This led to me searching the net, hearing about these Tiny Whoops, and eventually buying the parts to assemble one. My first was the brushless with 19k motors. I had some time ago bought a DX6 and box headset so I got those hooked up and began to learn to fly these little buggers. Man is it fun.

It took me a good week or two flying in the house then a little outside before I finally could handle trying to fly with the headset on. Still took some learning and flying but currently I am flying OK with the headset. Getting better the more I fly and practice for eventually participating in a whoop race.

I now have a brushed whoop using the original FC board from the Switch. I have been flying the brushless whoop as much as possible but I have now broken 2 cameras and needing another so the Switch has been my learning rig cause it is still flying. The Switch did not come with a camera but it does have a connector. I bought a camera...Continue Reading

Hi, I am looking for a set of plans for a radio control motor cruiser called MISTRAL, the only information I have is a copy of an article from a 1974 magazine called I believe Modelar Lublanska 57, 120 00 Praha2, CSSR, the article was written by Ivan Gavora and Jan Horak. I think it might have been a russian magazine. If you want to see what it looks like check ebay item number 273868439287 which appears might be a copy. I know its not a lot of info but please try your best.
P.S. I am new to the site so be gentle with me!!!!!

Not much to look at, but outright this is my favourite plane to fly. Still going strong since being built in 2014. It can do anything and fly from anywhere. I left the fuselage open and covered what woodwork there was with a fine cloth/resin finish. Flying surfaces are solar film...

Used this as a bit of a blank canvas for a bit of detailing. The base colour paints are Dulux matt emulsions that I had mixed up at a DIY store (Homebase). They stick pretty well considering the usual problem associated with painting Epo foam. Used Fisk film for the roundel masks and also for the lettering masks. It flies really well too!...Continue Reading
