After 8 months hiatus from flying plane FPV (after a crash), I got back to it a couple of days ago. With the HD FPV gear installed in a E-flite Carbon Z Splendor (crashed previously which help in alleviating anxiousness in messing up a pristine plane ), its docile yet precise handling qualities allowed me to feel comfortable quickly flying FPV in all phases of flight and some mild aerobatics. Yesterday, I finally tried out FPV chase/dogfight with a friend flying LOS very smoothly/predictably. It worked out great! I kept him in sight 99.9% of the time.

I picked this kit up around Christmas. Probably manufactured in the late ninety's. It was advertised as "Never Built" but should have said "Started, screwed up a few things, then returned to box". Rudder post was installed incorrectly at an angle so when lined up the rudder the bottom hinge didn't reach the post. The control rods in the fuse were installed, but the one for the rudder had a big curve in it right before the exit and the inner sleeve for the elevator was missing. (Luckily, I had a replacement in stock.) I repaired the issues and moved on. Ordered some graphics from Callie Graphics and spoilers from Esprit. The graphics are are great and Esprit as usual shipped quickly. Here's a few shots of the build and what it should look like when finished. (More or less ) More later.........

Sent for review testing by FastTech.com ( Product Page )

I came home after my morning walk and there was a box waiting for me .

Inside was a 50mm FMS EDF ..
The bullet connectors were pre soldered so all I needed to do to run some current measurements was connect a ESC .

2s = The EDF pulled 11.5 amp from a 2200 2s battery pack

3s = The EDF pulled 19.5 amp from a 2200 3s battery pack

Now I have to say that the motor did run smooth out of the box .
On the 2s there was some useful thrust , how much ?
How ever on the 3s it was just crazy .. At full power the thrust is just simply impressive as is the noise this EDF makes .. ( Be loud )
This 50mm will go into a HK Prime Jet pro , and I will try both 2s and 3s batteries ..
3s will definitely power the Prime , and I think that 2s will do just fine ( I think ) , just have to see how heavy the prime turns out ..

Now if you read the speel on this motor , it is supposed to be 3s - 4s ....
On 4s this EDF would be insane , and I am not sure you would want to go there (?) .. That 4500kv motor is already howling on 3s ...
So from here on the FMS 50mm 4500kv EDF is partnering with the Prime Jet pro ...
This be only the first post on this project ..

Thank you Fasttech.com , hopefully we will have some flying video's to view not to far into the future .

Metal ESC Guard
- Made Beam -

Metal ESC guard for the racing drone.
This is a transmission protection guard to prevent ESC from getting damaged during the transmission of the propeller.

60 series of aluminum processed products, and anodized (Black, red, and silver) finish.
It is recommended that you fix it to the airframe with double-sided tape and hold it once again with a cable tie. It is one product. You need to purchase four products for one unit.

Hey can anyone out there answer this question for me. I am purchasing a 1/5 scale Rovan 290Q Baja 29cc. It is compatible with the 5B and SS King motor. My issue is I want the 3 speed gearing and also the reverse gear but I was told they can't work together, it's either run stock gear with reverse kit or remove both and replace with 3 speed gears. Is this true or false?

I am loving Flex Innovations' planes. I have a Mamba 10, Extra 300 G1, and the Cap 323 now. It all started with the Mamba 10 at NEAT Fair. When I go to the basement and look at all my other planes, I am wondering when I am going to fly them. Well, not the HH Ultimate2, CZ Cessna, and CZ Cub. I am in the middle of putting together a Precision Aerobatics Extra 260 too. I'm putting the IPA kit and an Aura 8 in it. I'm wondering how it will compare to the Flex planes. I didn't realize that I would need to cut holes in the covering in several places. I'm glad that I keep a lot of new Exacto blades around. I learned from cutting foam that using a new blade every session will keep everything nice looking. I also didn't know a sealing tool is needed. That arrives Saturday. Late 2018 was the Fall of Flex. Maybe 2019 will be about balsa. After 8 years, I finally know what kind of planes I like to fly and willing to sink some money into some good ones without the fear of breaking the landing gear off.

Before the Cap 232 trade happened, I started selling planes to make room. For the CAP 232, I let two guys go crazy and pick out a dozen planes of all sizes. I knew one for years. He is a good pilot. It turned out the other guy only talked a good game. I found out New Years Day at a fun fly that he destroyed the CZ Splendor and Force RC F-18 Blue Angels I traded to him. I just fixed the canopy hatch on the Splendor and the test flights were good. I had an AR636 tuned nicely in the F-18, that had 4 flights on it. I'm wondering if he put a 3S in it. He also has my old QQ Extra 280 that was like new. I'm hoping he hangs it on a wall and never flies it. It's thinking like this that makes my basement look like I'm an airplane hoarder. Well, it doesn't look that way now. I sold/traded a lot of planes. On the other hand, I do have his Cap 232. He set up nice with an AR8010T RX, sat, and even bought HK wing bags. I will have my Cap 232 for years.

I really like the concept of the Radian: simple. However when its time to land you better be willing and able to force her down with tight turns and then nosing her into the grass, ground, sand, concrete, whatever. Hand catching is possible but the only way to slow her down is to get to near stall speed and risk the minor crash damage. Since most of my sailplanes and motorgliders have flaps or flaperons I decided to install my own flaps. Yes I have tried spoilers and they are better than nothing but with about the same time and effort flaps are better in my opinion.

What size? I recently installed some old Radian Pro wings that have flaps and ailerons but very little dihedral. They worked fine with AT6 Texan 636 receiver settings that were loaded in. However I felt that more flap area would be better so I increased the chord width of the flap. I put some yellow tape on the wing for a visual cue before making cut marks. I knew that because of the curved trailing edge I would not be able to have a continuous flap hinge but also knew that keeping the flaps short with a trailing edge connector link would work out OK.

It's not hot , there was even a cool breeze ..
But with 70% humidity I was soaking wet when I got home !
I went straight into the shower to wash the salt encrustation of my body ...

How the hell can you have a cool breeze and be sweating buckets ?
Come to Melbourne and find out ...

Aaaah yes , the TechOne DLG 1000

A) I pulled the last remaining lead out ( how the ? , did the previous owner ? , ??? )
B) I did quite a bit of peg launching and the DLG 1000 wants a little right rudder on launch to keep it straight . Otherwise it tends to want to roll left / launching off the left wing .
C) I even moved the battery further back to nudge the CG back .. Now the elevator is a little more sensitive and I put in 20% expo which was amended to 15% expo .
D) Flying weight is right on about 199 grams
E) The DLG 1000 is really twitchy on the roll axis for some reason , drop flaps and the situation improves . ( Flies real nice with flaps down )
F) I did mix in one of the rotary pots to adjust the angle of the Ailerons ( Mild flap ) ? So far
G) It glides ok now , but really cant hold onto that altitude .. It drops out of the sky relatively fast . ( Why Im playing with Flaperon angles )
H) I think I understand now why so many SLOPE the DLG 1000 , possibly more of a slope model than a true DLG ..

One hour spent sweating at the park .. The battery was off the charger at 8.4v and when put back on the charger was about 8v ..
Thats not bad for...Continue Reading

Hi all. I bought the h68w drone about 2 weeks ago. I looked at the reviews and thought it seemed like a good buy. I have previous experience with another drone I had and have flown a few helicopters. That being said, I found this drone difficult to control. At low altitudes it was fine. Landing it was difficult and I battled to stop the props from turning when on the ground. Now, take the drone to about 50 meters high, and it becomes barely controllable. The return feature is a joke. A few days ago, I decided to take it up to about 60 meters at the park down the road from me. Big mistake, having got up there, I reduced the throttle and found it started drifting away. No matter what I did, it would not respond to my transmitter. I lost sight of it and have not seen it since.🙈🙈. I did go to where I thought it had crashed and used the transmitter to see if I could get it to connect to drone. Having walked up and the pavement next to a busy road, I eventually got a spot where the drone linked up to the transmitter ( meaning, the red light on the transmitter stayed permanently on.) However, this is a residential area, where walls surround the properties. Lots of 🌲. I looked up to the closest trees and from the other side of the road, tried to spot it on any of the roofs. All to no avail. My only consolation is the drone wasn’t expensive enough, for me to cry myself to sleep that night. But still, I feel the loss. 🙈

Let’s start 2019 with the Messerschmitt Bf-109 G6 flying low and loud in the second half of the video. Stream that section to your AV system and crank the surround sound you won’t be disappointed.

Messerschmitt Bf-109 G6 Low & Loud - DB605 SOUND (12 min 42 sec)

The Bf 109 G-series was developed from the largely identical F-series airframe, although there were detail differences. Modifications included a reinforced wing structure, an internal bullet-proof windscreen, the use of heavier, welded framing for the cockpit transparencies, and additional light-alloy armour for the fuel tank. It was originally intended that the wheel wells would incorporate small doors to cover the outer portion of the wheels when retracted. To incorporate these the outer wheel bays were squared off. Two small inlet scoops for additional cooling of the spark plugs were added on both sides of the forward engine cowlings. A less obvious difference was the omission of the boundary layer bypass outlets, which had been a feature of the F-series, on the upper radiator flaps. Like most German aircraft produced in World War II, the Bf 109 G-series was designed to adapt to different operational tasks with greater versatility; larger modifications to fulfil a specific mission task, such as long-range reconnaissance or long-range fighter-bomber.
